Dreamviews name would have nothing to do with it. It would just be the use of the members to get it more wide spread.

Well I guess we could try to get the word out, but I doubt we can do much more then what most of us already are doing, that is telling our friends and local communities. There needs to be a LOT more research before lucid dreaming is completely accepted into society.

And you have to understand.

There's a reason why lucid dreaming isn't all the rage nowadays, and there's a reason why every household doesn't have a novadreamer.

Sure its a great concept, and even though there is some proof, it just isn't enough.

Like Copernicus's theory, something this drastic and mind-boggling is going to have to be introduced to the society a little bit at a time.

I personally have heard more and more news articles about lucid dreaming everyday. So we may be getting there.

Hell, I heard of Lucid Dreaming on tech tv long before I came here.They were talking about the novadreamer.

Oh yeah, btw, I think that the "secret" forum sounds good.
It would be kinda funny ya know.But if lowercase's post count dropped to zero with a new forum, Im afraid he would leave.

If people are ready to become lucid dreamers, let them prove it by finding out about it themselves. I did, and it makes LDing feel that much sweeter.

Yes..let them find them by itself, mass publicc knowledge results in even more dream abuse then there already is anyway..>_> , and the people who are not going to abuse it will find it on their own anyway.

I guess the people that want other people to know about LDing they will sread it their own way. And others can keep it to them selves.

No I don't think thats really fair guys.. I mean think of all the people who are natural Ld'ers out there but doesn't exploit it because they don't know that others have this ability also. I mean they may or may not look for more insight on it. Some people don't even know it's called Lucid dreaming and they have this ability. We need to go to them and not the other way around.

Its Just like the first and Second Matrix. Neo Started freeing Minds because those people did not know. There will be a small few a very small few who would actively search for more information just like all of us and just like Neo did in Matrix 1 looking for Morphius. Thats what we are people. We are Morphius and others are looking for us. We have to reach out to them.

It was by chance I heard about it. I am 32 years old and had never heard of LD's. It has improved my life & could improve a lot more.
( I think the rebuttle we have gotten on this subject are the member's fear for this sight. If you look at the original post Dreamviews itself would not be involved. Just the members and the power of numbers.)

Yep I know what you mean Howetzer.. I mean I love this site also and I can understand them feeling a bit of pressure from a significant bombardment of new comers to the point where it would be overwhelming. But everyone else should look at it from the outside. If we were really in the Matrix would you or would you not want NEO to free your Mind? And for everyone here I know you all are happy that you've found this site. It's like stumbling across a very valuable Gem stone and wanting to keep it for yourself. im only a n00b but i have to agree with people that if it is somthing you are interested in you will find it.
such has always been the case for me, when i was first let loose in a library i imediatly tried finding stuff that would be different to everyday life, supernatural stuff and the such, then i was let loose on the internet and i managed to find my way around just fine, lucid dreaming would have made itself known to me no matter what.
A trend? it is likely to happen, all it takes is a public person to mention it once, like the other night my mate told me about a radio station he listens to on which the late night DJ has begun to talk about how he recently descovered lucid dreaming and how cool it is.
It is a popular radio station i wonder how many people have gone looking for info since he started occasionaly mentioning it?

For instance if a famous singer or actor made a video or public appearence regarding LD or Obe then it's interest would explode in millions of people.

But the real interest and beliefs will never be shared for them, as they are jumping on the bandwagon to say, not riding in it

i found out about LDs just a month or so ago... and i'm 22 years old!!!
that's 22 years of wasted sleep time!!!
i dont want ANYONE (no matter how stupid/selfish/unworthy) to waste that time either!
i truly belive that LDing can teach people a good lesson about life and maybe make a change in our modren society (which is crumbeling by the day!)

but i also agree that there's a way to tell people about it... and letters is certenly not it
best way is by simply telling everyone that wants to listen
movies like Waking Life and movies in general are a good way to get people's attention on the subject!
i hope some day it could be tought in schools !!!


and about the screat forum... i've been posting on a cannabis forum (kinda like overgrow but much smaller and local to my country...) and becouse the owner of the site wants to keep little kids off of the site (but does not really have a chance though he IS very strickt and the moderators ban kids all the time) he made us "old guys" our own secret forum and only people that "prove" themselves get invited
i see no reason why that couldn't work here!
what makes a good forum are always the people... most of the folks i've seen here so far are great but i can also see some kids that dont really know how to fit in and no matter what you'll do this site will grow and decline...

it's not very polite/politically correct but the fact is that forums tend to create small comunities of regullars and when they grow too much that might break it up and put these people off of posting!
and i think you guy's could certenly use such a forum... and its REALLY easy to do!

Taking into account all of the different point of views that the people have expressed here, I have to say Shadow pretty much articulated what I feel. People are looking for answers out there...I know I was and still am. But lucid dreaming has helped me greatly in my quest, it has greatly changed my life. People deserve to know. In the end it is their choice whether to accept or dismiss the concept alltogether. Many will take the blue pill and others will have a mind open enough to accept the red one.

If your concerns are about this forum, there are thousands of adjustments we can make so that it doesn't really affect us that much. We are saying that we don't want them to know now, because we already know ourselves. Imagine that you never learned about LDing, something that we are so interested in now. It really wouldn't be fair. One who wants to LD, whether or not they have ever heard of the concept, should have the right to find out what it is and develop an interest...

I'm just skipping everything and express my opinion. I voted yes. I think Lucid dream is something everybody or most people should try at least once in their life time, but I don't the majority of people will be interested or will just think its fake.

SO to contruct a letter.
1. We would have to go on the honor system that people who say they will do it, will. Which in turn would require some form of sign up???

2. Second. I suggest that it is handled in away similar to that of the National Cancer Society. Although they sent me envelopes and constructed their own letter I think there idea of choosing a location near you and sendind them to about ten to fifteen (or whatever is decided apon) address is good. Not necessarilly your neighbors but since we are all so deversified we could cover a lot of ground.

3. We would somehow all have to agree on a letter for us all to get the general info out. I don't think it would be a good Idea for us all to construct our own letter.

4.Any thoughts?

I personally think that we should get the word out, as I said before, but a letter might not be the best way to do so. I think it would be even better, in most cases, to just recolect a bunch of email addresses and send as many emails as we can.

I agree with Seeker that the best ways to communicate this is through the local paper, tv station, etc...

In this letter this website isn't going to be in it? It's just information on Ld yeah?

If it is then id predict a flood of users therefore bad news so maybe if anyone has the resources make another forum with basic tutorials and many posts from here cut into it or just articles of info made up.

I wouldn't mind making something regarding Astral Projection or the likes.
