I was just about the say that. When school starts up, weekends are my only chance for lucids. You highschoolers don't even know what a real messed up sleep schedule is like |
|
I cant wait for college, but right now Highschool is brutal. |

I'm really worried about that too! Last year was a total chaos! Woke up at seven, in order to arrive at school at eight. Arrived home at half past three so as to start homework at four, which lastet til ten (including dinner and small breaks). And then another two hours of "fun", computer and/or redaing. |

lol. This thread seems to be more of a complain-fest than an attempt for a solution. I am in the 11th grade and I have the same problem. I decided after LDing last week (which hadn't happened in a while) that LDing and dream recall is to important to jeopardize just because of school, extra-curricular activities, etc. So I divised a plan. I'm just starting it now, and it's hard if you're lazy, but I'm thinking that atleast for me, it'll work. |

Total LD's: 22 (21 since joining, 1 a long time ago) + All the crappy short moments of lucidity.
I usually get about 7 hours because I gotta wake up at 6:30. I can usually get in 1 dream. I'm still working on getting the lucid part in. |
|
I think going to bed at 12:00AM or later to turn around and get up at 5:30 to make the bus counts as a pretty crappy schedule, and I am in HS. If you are like me you learn how to sleep in class, unfortunatly my hearing has started to go south, so I have to sit in the front now. But if you take a bus have one of your buddies keep an eye on you and your stuff while you snooze. My friend and I do this, we have some pretty mean kids on our route. I have never had an LD on the bus, as I found out about LDing this summer, but I have had many hours of sleep on the bus. |

Well, to be honest I find that when I believe I have enough time, I have plenty. However, when I rush to do something I can not seem to find time. |
|
I have found that the single most important thing you can do to aid your dreaming is take the extra time to write your dreams down. For me, this usually takes 20-30 minutes, and although I often wish I could spend the extra time relaxing in bed before starting on a busy day, its almost always worth it. To speed things up a bit, keep your DJ on the computer - typing is a lot faster than writing. |

Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

One good thing is, even if your sleep time is short, your REM time should be the same, because the brain has to get its REM or it malfunctions. So you should dream the same amount. I know it is hard to find the time to write them down and do the necessary thinking about lucidity, RC's, incubation, etc. tho when you're busy. |
|
I never get more than 5-6 hours of sleep a night, sometimes 7 hours if I'm lucky. I have to get up at 6:30 every day like a lot of other people (because for some reason, sports people are very resistant to moving the school start time forward, even thought it would be hugely beneficial to everyone, especially me and my lucid dreaming). My advice is to try and do your homework in study halls if you've got any, and do it with focus and no distractions if possible while doing it at home so it gets done quicker, and just stay focused on your goal of getting to bed earlier. |
|
so far i've been getting average 6 hours, and i don't usually even do my homework at home. don't get any recall those days. (have to wake up 6:10) i have to improve my lucid ability so i can actually want to go to sleep early, but i don't know how i'd do that besides weekends. i didn't think about lds at all during the summer. |
|
Do you know where you are?
School Starts for me Sept. 6th now the thing is... I figure you could do a CAT or Cycle Adjustment Technique basically its for peple w/ regular sleep cycle. You goto bed the same time everynite basically during the school year. Of course in my case as soon as you remember dreaming your alarm clock goes off and u have to fet rdy for school. |

yeah, that does sound really hard, but if i go to bed really early and do my homework fast or at school i should be fine. so much work for such a simple thing.. |
|

Its hard but you can do it... If u do not want to... Do MILD but set in your mind wat you want to do... Over the course of the day. That way if say you have a test... I can cover it in your dreams... Actually study for your test to... Jus glance it over than you'll dream about it... |

Another solution is to take afternoon naps for 1.5-2 hours. That's generally long enough to dream, and i've had some great lucid dreams in afternoon naps. This is, of course, if you have the time for that. |

Its very tricky to balance out: School, Work and Dreaming(Recording and Getting). |
