Hello, I am unsure of whether I had a lucid dream or if I just dreamt up the entire thing.

In the dream I was in my bathroom looking into my mirror and for some reason I thought something was strange. So I did a reality check by plugging my nose and trying to breath through, and I could still breath, so I knew that I was dreaming. Right at about that point the dream started to fade, but I remained calm and managed to stay in it. After that I decided to try jumping, I jumped to the ceiling a couple times and would float down slowly. After that I decided I should try to go to this girls house and so I was opening my window to leave my house and then the dream ended.

I don't know if this was in fact a lucid dream of if I dreamt I had a lucid dream. Is that possible dreaming you had a lucid dream??

Thank you very much for all your responses, this community has been very helpful.

Sounds like a lucid dream to me. You came to the realisation that you were in fact dreaming and then acted on it.

I don't think it's possible to dream of a lucid dream. Many noobs think that they dream of lucid dreaming but usually it's just a low lucidity dream. (By lucidity I mean there wasn't much control, and vividness). In these low lucidity dreams, your POV may switch from first person to the third, which may make it seem like your not really lucid. Just think of the definition of Lucid Dreaming... "lucid dreaming is simply dreaming while being aware you are dreaming." That's taken right from the main sight. So as long as you knew you were dreaming, even if you didn't know it the whole time, then you had a lucid dream.

Hope I helped. Have fun LDing

Heh... the title of your post is almost exactly the same as the title of my first or second post on this forum on April 17, 2005...

I guess this is a common feeling among first-time LDers

the answer is: you will never know it.
"dreaming of lucid dreams" is just the way those people who don't believe LD exist try to defend their indefendable position
"low level dreams" is the name that believers use to overcome this objection - that touches almost every dreamer sometimes

it's about how it feels i suppose. mostly, if you feel like you won a ton of chocolate ice cream, it is a LD.

I've never had a lucid dream but once I dreamt I was in my room and went to sleep and then I saw before my eyes a big screen thingy surrounded by blackness and I knew that if i leaned in front I'd go through it and into a dream...it was exactly like a description of WILD i had read somewhere...and I rememeber thinking to myself "Finally!!! A lucid dream, after a month and a half of practice...I can't wait to tell A.!" (she's my friend who knows I'm practicing LD-ing.).

So, there you go, I dreamt I was having an LD.

Made up my mind to make a new start,

I'm sure that you can dream that you are having a lucid dream, I had this feeling very often as a beginer.
