Alright, well someone who isn't me wants to know if smokin marijuana before goin to bed everynight (only way they can fall asleep) will affect lucid dreamin in anyway. When I say this I meanin.. will it be harder to reach a lucid state?

It seems to decrease his dream recall, but when he remembers them, they are pretty vivid.

Thanks again everyone.

Edit: Didn't read the rule about grammar till 2 minutes ago. Corrected.

well im no expert on the matter but when i get stoned before bed and wake up the next day i cant remember aything its like the night never happened. But if i dont have any and go to sleep the first few days of not havin any are the most vivid intense dreams ive ever had and they are beautiful. And ive heard of when you miss rem periods the next day you get a double, triple...etc (depending how many nights you go without them) dose of rem sleep. This seems to me like a very reasonable explaination...

but that is all i can oofer as far as advice on that subject

Sweet Lucid Dreamzzz....

Hello.
This question has been asked sooo many times.
It seems that the general consensus is YES! It effects memory.

Ask then how many dreams they recall, you will get your answer most likely.

Ohhh, Welcome BTW!

THC in your body = no dreams for joo
quit smoking weed. you will have lots of dreams. then learn to lucid, it's a lot more fun than the ol' green (not to mention better for your health and cheaper )

One of my best friends is a daily smoker for years, and he tells me that, on those rare occasions he's not been able to smoke, that he has the most intense dreams ever.

But that's a different answer to a different question....

As far as will smoking daily inhibit lucid dreaming capability... in my opinion the jury is still out on this one. Sure, it seems reasonable to imagine smoking weed will not help you, but then again, heavy users may report that smoking helps them concentrate, relax, be creative, use their imagination, etc. and these are all parts of the puzzle of lucid dreaming.

I find my dream recall to be cyclic. It fades in for a week, then fades out, then it'll come back for three or four days.... With the exception of five days ago I haven't used marijuana in a long time (more than a year, less than two). A few days ago I gave it another try (still not my cup of tea, but it's good to have perspective).

I found it to wipe out my dream recall for 3 - 4 days (even if i'm at the beginning of my dream-period*), then it would slowly fade back in just like I'm used to.

That said, the experiences people have with weed are very diverse. What makes me tense might relax him, what disrupts my focus might stimulate creativity. I'd say look into other methods of falling asleep for a week or two, if he can, and then document any changes with the dream journal. That way he can start smokin' again and see what the difference is.

* this could mean "range of time" or it could metaphorize the menstral cycle, both meanings apply (strange eh?)

Personally, when im high and go to sleep and try to WILD i feel like i reach the transition phase much faster because of the smoking induced visuals.

Weed has negative effects on my dream recall; I just use shrooms instead, which help with my recall.

eat the hash don't smoke it for more and vivid dreams I would say (from my limited experience in A'dam)

I smoked grass a lot for 2 yrs so that I dont get dreams all night except before I woke up in the morning (but I slept maybe 10 hrs a night)

PS: excuse my english - not my native tongue
PPS: dont go around eating hash - its really strong and different effect than smoking some grass
