      This is a question I keep meaning to ask but keep forgeting to post.
      I'm pretty new to LD and to DV so it may have been answered before.

      Is it possible for your subconscious to present itself to you in the form of some sort of personification?
      Or is that just stupid coz your subconscious is a "process" not a "person"?

      I'm intereseted because if it does I have, like, a million questions I want to ask mine, and also because I had what I think was my first proper WILD about a month ago and some way into the dream, after I'd been putting my hands through walls and levitating and generally having fun, I suddenly thought to myself: "Hey, I almost forgot, I wanted to try and meet my subconscious."

      And at that very moment a strong feeling of foreboding and presence came over me. I turned around to look at the doorway behind me and my sister was standing there, all swathed in coloured knitted fabric, completely wrapped in it except for her eyes. Like she was wearing some kind of Burka.

      Her eyes have always been big and blue but this time they were just ENORMOUS and staring straight into me, like right into the heart of me.

      It doesn't sound scary but it made me feel strange.

      I had assumed that because she appeared as a direct result of me thinking about my subconscious, and because I felt her appear, that she must have been "it".

      But I'm not so sure now. Maybe I just wanted a symbol and she was the nearest to hand at the time.

      Anybody know anything about this sort of stuff?

      Perhaps your sub-conscious is angry with you because of a particular situation with your sister? i.e. bad ties atm.

      If you have argued with her or whatnot in the recent past, or if there is some unresolved issue with her from long ago, maybe you should address it?

      I get this, just because it seemed when you said "I want to meet my sub-conscious." immediately you felt your sisters presence, and from how you described it, the "setting" was very... unsettling.

      I've had one LD where I actively looked for my subconscious and I had a feeling of dread and foreboding. I was talking out load to myself asking my subcoususnes to come talk to me and that I was listening if it would try and say something. The road I was standing on turned into a shaky wooden bridge and vines came out at me form all sides. I got so freaked out I woke myself up. Since then I haven't been able to remember to talk to it again but I want to. Even though I'm a little scared.

      Next time you try, you might want to try a little more subtle coaxing.

      I've never LD'd but I know if I was doing something like that, I'd be careful as ol' hell.

      Indeed!

      From the LD I described above I have to say that I had the distinct impression I was doing something that was not to be toyed with lightly.

      This is the reason I started the thread.

      I think the subconscious can teach us a lot but like you say OneRyt I don't think it likes to interrogated.

      The thing with the bridge and the whole scene turning sinister is pretty much exactly what i got, Rosephase. Almost like in a movie, cue creepy music.

      I'm hoping, though, that there are ways of interacting with it that are a bit more intelligable than the obscure symbols mine keeps throwing at me.

      My consiousness is like: "OK I know you're trying to tell me things but I'm not on you're wavelength, man!"
