It seems you can "program" your brain during a LD (or with hypnosis, for that matter), by autosuggestion. Some dude once claimed he had "hacked his brain" that way during a LD and thus could LD at will. He even talked about a computer that he summoned to do his "hack". |

SO the question remains, what kind of things could you do with your mind at this point? |

Well it depends on what you would want to do, if it is anyting realistic I think there are endless possibilities, but ofcourse you can't program your mind to make your real body have wings... |

OneRyt, do you mean programming your mind in a programming language or in human speech? If you mean the former, and if by "avid" you mean that you practically think in terms of programming, why don't you write a high-level API (leave the system calls to your subconscious) in your favorite language that lets you manipulate basic physiological functions like heart rate or breathing? Pull up a text editor in an LD and ... |

See now... That's exactly the direction I wanted to take it! |

Wow! this sounds like a really interesting/good idea to program your dream from within an LD. Anyways, I don't think you'd need to be a avid programmer either, or even know them at all for that matter. For all your brain cares you could be typing in commands like in those old text games where you type what you want it to do. I will totaly try it if I get a chance. |
|
If programming is part of your lifestyle, programming your dreams should come more easily, just like it's easier to have DILDs if you perform RCs throughout the day. Even if you don't have any familiarity with programming, it would be a cool thing to try, but it might take considerable practice. Good luck. |
|
I don't mean just programming your dreams, I mean to program your brain, like.... ANYTHING... |

Oh, I meant "programming in your dreams." Yeah, that would be awesome. Since lucid dreaming deals with your conscious mind, self-hypnosis might be a better method for training the subconscious as per your example. However, lucid dreaming might provide a bridge between the two states like hypnosis. After all, even in an LD, you don't have to exert conscious control over anything in the dream; things just happen by themselves unless you choose to control them. Assuming that's the case, programming your brain might not be so difficult in an LD. |
|
It does sound like a good idea but we all know how dreams can be a bit unstable. I mean if this does work then what happend if you just thought you programmed your brain to die and it comes true. If you had to programe your brain your going to have to think carefully on what you do. Altering the brain isn't a good idea unless you know whats really happening. Luckly your subconscious should be there to stop the dreadful mistakes. |

Im not afraid of the dark, its whats in it.
*the lights turn off and the whole room goes dark*
Oh im fin- Ahhhhhhhh its a scary figment of my imagination.
Once you're dreaming Lucidly I solidly believe that the foreconscious and subconscious are thinking in unison, so I think you really couldn't do anything too detrimental, unless you're a complete retard. (which nobody TRULY is) |

I guess we should experiment with this. This sounds really neat. You could give yourself lots of confidence. And as we all know, confidence is the key to everything. |

Maybe, instead of programming (since text can change all the time in dreams), you could try to teleport yourself to some kind of machine room. You encounter a person in that room: the avatar of your subsconscience. You could ask him to do adjust certain things in your mind. Or you could just have fun doing it yourself and ask your subconscience his opinion about what you want to change. |

Dice, I don't like fishy fish either, but some don't require a taste for fish. Try basa (the Vietnamese catfish); it's really sweet and not reminiscent of that yucky fish taste. |
|
Hmm, really? Maybe I should try that sometime, if they sell it in our local fish stores. |
