When I was little, I had a lot of nightmares, like anyone else here. I eventually invented a way for me to wake myself up that I believed would work when I was little, and it did. I said to myself, if I close my eyes in a dream, and open them again I would be awake. Sure enough, it worked.
Well my problem is now that I know about being lucid, I eventually blink while in a dream. and sure enough, I would wake up. When I'm dreaming, I can't stop myself from blinking either because my eyes would start to hurt like they do in the real world.
I also have this problem when I do things like jump in water, or have a lot of wind in my face. Could the whole waking up part be more of a "if you think it will happen, it will" deal? Is there any way to counter this failsafe that I made?
