I've been finding more often that I tell my dream characters goodbye when I leave them. It's becoming something of a habit.

Each time though, it is with a sense of saddness and loss. Last night, I was hanging in a non lucid dream with a DC. I do not know him in real life, but in the dream, he was a either a co-worker or aqaintance. We were walking along and needed to jump a fence. It was at this point I became lucid because of the unusual hang time.

As soon as I landed, I looked him in the eye, shook his hand and said: "Goodbye, i do not think we will meet again"

He had a look of sadness on his face and I felt sadness in my heart.

So, am I the only one that does this?
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

I have yet to have a lucid dream wich is both clear and long, but it does seem like the type of thing I would do as well, as I also feal compeled to do that in RWL

      From my Dream Journal:

I am in love with a tall dark-haired somewhat older man. We are trying to live in the midst of a lot of water or something. I become lucid, and I look at the man and tell him that it is all a dream. He looks at me with concern, as if he is worried about my sanity. I insist that we are in my dream and I feel sorry for him because he does not exist. He says something like, "How can the whole world be inside your head? How can I be nothing but your imagination?" I look around and I am totally amazed by the detail and scope of the scene. We embrace and I am sad.

Sometimes DC's seem so real it doesn't seem possible that they exist only in your dream. The idea of ongoing DC's that you can visit in different dreams is so cool, but I have only very rarely done this for a couple nights in a row. It's so strange when they deny being DC's.

P.S. I wonder what would happen if you said "Meet me here again tomorrow" or something like that. Seeker, you have enough LD's you could test this out.

Ugh, you bring up a sensitive subject for me.

One DC of mine I see whenever I can (which isn't nearly often enough).

      ...Our goodbyes are always painful.

I don't say goodbye to my DCs because at the end of my dreams there aren't many left

Do you ever feel like you are saying goodbye to part of your own mind when you do this? DC's may look different all the time, but they are always generated by our subconscious minds, so they are always parts of us. You may not see the same DC again, but you will continue to meet parts of your mind. Then again, maybe each DC is a particular manifestation of our subconscious, that will never be created again. Does that make any sense?
The new evolutionary paradigm will give us the human traits of truth, of loyalty, of justice, of freedom. These will be the manifestations of the new evolution. And that is what we would hope to see from this. That would be nice.

Yea I guess it is silly to think of them as real individuals. Sometimes it's hard not to tho.

Most of my DC's are people I know irl so I get to see them during the day. So no, I don't say goodbye.

      That's pretty intersting seeker.
I think that if you beleive you will not see that DC again, chances are you will not.

I also beleive that dream characters often represtent something. They have a meaning. Often once their purpose is done, they may not show up in that same format ever again..or at all.
I am not saying that a DC has a meassage from god or an alien. (I am also not saying that is not possible either)
It is just my beleif that a DC is a part of yourself manifested in your dream, often showing you a sign.

I don't say goodbye to them. I think that would be silly, because it'd be like saying, "Okay, scram, I don't wanna see you again."

Actually I was telling this old lady DC to leave me the fuck alone. xD I was even flying on a broomstick trying to get away from her but somehow she grabbed on!

A while ago I had a dream about a sexy wizard with a hood who I desperately wanted to... with for some reason. x3 Then a few nights ago my buddy had a dream about "the same" wizard with the hood, and how she was also desperately trying to... well you know. She was like "What is it with this sexual entity in our minds!" xD I think he went from my dream to hers by means of the placebo train.

I don't say bye to any DC's except for one that shows up in nearly all my dreams, so yeah I say bye to her.
