Well, that's not strictly true. It's usually a good guideline to get 8 hours of sleep for maximum REM, but when you're sleep deprived you slip into REM much faster, so three or four hours of sleep will get you plenty of REM and thus plenty of lucid opportunities. Three to four hours is an overstatement, really--a quick nap for under an hour will give you some REM sleep, just not a lot. |
