I found this site maybe about a week ago and started reading here and did a little research on the topic of Lucid Dreaming and thats when it hit me; I've been doing this for quite a while.

Thinking back now, I can remember about 13 nights in December alone where I was concsiously dreaming but I never tried to control anything.

But then I remember why I had so many in December and not in any other month; Music. Don't rip me to shreds if this has been said before but I find that if I play my collection of Infected Mushroom then I can fall asleep but remain conscious.

The really really detailed list of things I do
--

-Get in bed
-Put iPod on and listen to Infected Mushroom (specifically the album Merlin, but any Goa/Psy-Trance should do) at lowest possible volume.
-My earbuds are Shure e4g's (They're like $300 but worth it if you love music)
-"Sleep"
-???
-Profit!!!

I plan on testing this further myself to see if I can do it this way more often.

On a side note, do not listen to "A Voyage Into Trance (the one mixed by Paul Oakenfold)". This will result in very very odd dreams, for me at least.

Well, thats my 2 cents.

It's not as far-fetched as it sounds. During Winter vacation I wasn't having much success with remembering dreams unless I took some B6. Then a few nights before my vacation ended I started playing the radio very quietly and could remember like twice as many dreams and I didn't even take any B6. My guess is that music helps to stimulate the mind while you're asleep. Anyways, from now on I'm going to have the radio playing while I sleep. Although, now that school's back in, I probably won't have much luck with dream recall during the week days.

Just tacking a bit on here, but over the course of a few months trying different styles of music to fall asleep to (my original goal before I knew of LD) I found (as stated above) that Goa/Psy-Trance works best. Although I have been known to sleep to Industrial IDM like Combichrist and Panzer Ag, and Breaking Benjamin (I dont listen to that anymore, brings back horrible memories of a relationship I want to forget ever happened). I found that Psy-Trance will do exactly as the name implies, put you in a trance.

I'm going to do a litlle experiment tonight and see if I can WILD while listening to Infected Mushroom. I've reached SP before with music on, just never any further because once I got there I hit Hypnogogia and my brain would get freaked and shock the body back awake. (which is quite common for me naturally, like 3x/week)

And on the topic of Dream Recall whilst listening to music, I also find it helps. Prime example is the time I listened to A Voyage Into Trance. I never wrote it down, mainly because it's hard to put into words. But lets put it this way, cats walking on the fscking ceiling. It was like LSD, Shrooms, Mescaline, and DMT all rolled into one. Crazy stuff.

Well, I'm off to go experiment. Back to the Lab with me. Night everyone, I'm hoping for a LD tonight! Wish me luck!

Well to sum things up, it didn't really work out too hot, although it might just have been an off night, I'm gonna keep trying for a month, then go without music for a month and see if theres a difference.
