Thread: What is a dream?

theories. it think it's just chemicals in your head (subconscious) but others choose to believe that there's more to it than that. it really depends on you perspective and your experiences. but for me it's just science and LDing lets me take advantage of something i already have, but that's just me. i really want to astral project just so i can have the expeience and go from there. again, they're all theories... the science side just has more 'proof' to back it up... so far.

if you think about it, the only thing a dream could be is a persons complete perception of the universe and everything they have stored in their memories.

there is no way for a person to 'share' a dream with another real person, if you do encounter someone in a dream it will just be your mind's creation of that person bulit by all the memories that you have of them.

it would sort of depends......firstly there is sort of a few categories....Dreaming, Lucid Dreaming, Obe(Astral Travel) and probally some other stuff im not yet aware of........i rekon dreaming is just your mind creating a world while ur asleep.....creating various thoughts and interactions inside the dream......

Astral Projecting is different, ive read its a whole new feeling and alot more real than life itself..........so until i have experienced both they are my temperory opinions

I've been doing some "research, and i found out an interesting theory that backs up the one about the soul. It says that when our soul comes out, it goes to another plane. And since time only exists in this reality, you can dream with someone, and the people you dream with, either already dreamed it or will dream about that in some days, or months, or years in the future.
For example, according to this theory, if you dream that you're having a conversation with your best friend, your friend should have the same dream some time (either in the past or in the future), since it'd be your souls interacting.

Well I don't know, I believe in the "brain" theory too, but it's kind of fun to think that the other one is real too.
What do you guys think about that? Does it make any sense to you?

makes sense, but it doesn't back anything up really. -- i want to see what happens when someone who can induce OBE's has a brain montier attached to them. that might help us open some doors.

yeah id like to see that as well, but even the monitors cant describe everything and answer many questions.......

Well the Native people of Aussie believed we once came from a 'Dreamtime' do they know something we westerns dont ?. And it is quite possible for a 'higher order' of being to enter our dreams since it merely energy. (learnt about the world from this)

Personal if you think a dream is onething and another person thinks otherwise this is all good.... since we wont really know the answer... and science i feel distorts things to much.... just go with what u think sits well with you... its your word vs thiers

the native people of australia are aboriginals, and they have been here for over 40,000 years, studying and passing down the dreamtime

this is a respected culture they have and i admit that the western world doesnt pay enough attention to other beliefs.....dreams can be anything.....so until we know there shouldnt be any is or arnts........thats my 3 cents
