SO I woke up today around 830 am here, very bright out and all, and started to drift off to sleep. I noticed I started to feel like I was sinking into my bed so I thought to myself, "Hey maybe I'll sink right through into a dream"

I started seing three colors, red green and blue. Great, the SP is starting to kick in. I must be starting to WILD (which I wasn't trying to do, it just started to happen).

BUT THEN (drum roll)...There was this thing to my left. At first I thought it might be the hag. But from my understanding, the hag sits on your chest when you start to panic and can't breathe. Then I thought it might just be one of those presences. But here is the odd thing. For the brief time I panicked (5 seconds-ish), I swear I could hear this eerie drum-roll. Once I threw in some common logic (it can't do anything to me), the drum-roll stopped...but it was still there. And what is even odder, I could have sworn I could feel it breathing on me. I said, I really don't want to deal with this anymore, its not even worth dreaming as I am past my REM cycle, I'll just move and get out...but I was stuck from SP for another 15 seconds or so.

So two questions from that:
1 - What do you interpret that being as?
2 - Say that happenes again. How can I use that to my advantage to go into a dream? When the being was there, I closed my eyes, not moving, thinking that would hopefully lead me into a dream world when I opened them back up, but no such luck.

One more small note. There is a small chance this may have occured when I was waking from a dream, I don't think that was the case as I remember my legs started to go heavy. All this happened in the broad morning daylight as well.

Thanks for your help!
Bryan

hmm...that's an interesting experience...

often when you experience SP, the hag is the most common symbol, i don't think she necessarily has to be sitting on your chest.
Not sure how it would work for getting into a dream because technically, you're awake when you see this vision...it's known as a False Awakening, so it's difficult to get into a lucid dream that way.

Hope this helps you out some.

Is it bad that I've never even heard of this hag?

No, its a slang term actually.
Its actually just a term on a presence that can be present upon waking up from SP (sleep paralysis).

The idea is that an old lady is present in the room upon your awakening.
The best thing to do is just google it mate.

This is what scientist tell those who believe that they are abducted by aliens (I'm not advocating either side here), am I right? That it's basically just a presence that causes fear in the form of your time period (In ours, it's aliens. In ancient times, it was demons), or something like that. I think I understand.

Thanks

It sure is. But I have yet to hear of an account where the figment of the imagination is actually breathing on a person. (again, more than likely just in my head)
