I saw that here on this forum is a topic entitled "Reasons for Lucid Dreaming" where everybody can find out why Lucid Dreaming is good for you.

Now I want to ask a question to all forum users that had lucid dreams.

What improvements did you get in your life from this skill ( lucid dreaming ) ?

Yeah definitly life is more valuable to me, it might have been the reason why I decided to not join the military, because lack of sleep, and I might die and miss my chance to truly master lucid dreaming. basicly I was thinking I don't really want to live past 50, I'll probably die somehow in the military, just because of iraq.

Also I feel i've got a perpose, and I'm not depressed nearly as much.

I wanna be the very best

In the beginning of my lucid dreaming days, I read this really interesting thing on Lucid Crossroads. It basically said that something very important to lucid dreaming is good observation skills, so that you have a bigger chance to notice something is "wrong" - that you're in fact dreaming. It gave an example, how he/she (the one who had written the page) failed to notice so many interesting details on his/her way to work. After I read this, I started noticing a lot of beautiful things, I've started watching clouds even more often than I used to, I started watching
flowers and especially birds. Life seems, if not better, more beautiful since I started lucid dreaming.

I definatly understand myself better. I also think I might be more observant and be able to read people better.

      I got nothing.
Lucid Count: 60 (a lot from dream reentry and recognizing FA)

      What I've gained via LDs-

~I learned a lot more about myself and how I tend to act without thinking when it's for the sake of others (not always a good thing)

~I've learned to have fun doing things that upset others

~I've inspired myself to write and draw again (though both hobbies have returned to the dead)

~My awareness levels are much better than they used to be; I was always poked by others last year (weird thing my friends do) and now, my senses are good enough to block and counter 90% of their 'attacks' without paying much attenton. Also, my paranoia has increased to the state that I had to remove my mirror board (yes, board, a bunch of 1.27 cm mirror tiles, 64 I think, super glued to a 1ft square piece of wood) and get jumpy when I'm in a car (passenger) and I begin to watch cars move (usually it's not intentionally; watching them)

      ~ I haven't had a nightmare since I was 6 (first time I was lucid)

I've gained primarily good things from LDs, the paranoia was gained from biking to/fro school (across several highways) and heightened with dreams, so it's all good

It had a slight effect at first, but after a while, this effect either wore off, or I just got used to it. I do however appreciate God more (or whatever force drives this universe) - don't know why, but I just do. I also appreciate life a bit more.

Lol, I have to agree with you totally, you'd be amazed how angry someone gets in my classes if you merely do something out of their little box that they live in. It's kind of fun though, to trick them, to do something totally different that works way better than their ordinary way and to see how they react.

I think I appreciate my dreams more, really. Still, after a years worth of masterring my dreams, I truly am awed by the fact that I remember my dreams every night. Before, I remembered 2-3 a year. MAYBE. So I'm glad I've learned about this.

The only reason I LD is to get in touch with my brain. It's undoubtedly the most complex strucure in the universe and it's far too incredible to be ignored. I think alot of people dont even realize whats going on in their head, and its sad. I love going into a dream and seeing what my mind creates on its own, its amazing. The fact that the brain is just specialized cells that communicate with chemicals and electricity is amazing, and its my favorite thing seeing what it creates.

True, it's interesting to know that a bunch of neurons can transmit messages properly enough to make an out of this world dream, though if the neurons don't receive the messages properly, it can lead to depression, I wonder, is that how sad/depressing dreams are made?
