Well, I have a question, I don't dream, so how can I have a LD if I can't even dream at all? Every time I go to sleep, Instead of dreaming, it's just pitch black. Any help?

And one more question, how do you know when you are having a LD, and is there another way of having them other than just finding out that you're dreaming during the dream?

      thanks.

You probably do have dreams.. your problem will be you cannot remember them.
Some are born to sweet delight,
Some are born to endless night.

      Hi - and welcome!!!

Have you never ever had a dream?

Ummmm. When you say its just black - I guess you don't mean that you just dream of blackness?

As far as I know, everyone dreams - but many find it difficult to remember them. I recall reading somewhere that some people who claimed they didn't dream were monitored in a sleep lab - when they had been in the REM stage for a while they were woken up, and as far as I know they all reported dreams.

Try putting a clearly visible note on your alarm clock saying 'dreams?' or something - and then when it goes off hopefully the note will be the first thing you see before you start thinking about anything else. Then write down anything that comes to mind - it may only be snippets and fragments - but you can probably build from there. I usually have excellent recall but if I don't start writing dreams down as soon as I wake, within a few minutes or even seconds I often can't remember anything at all.

Other people may well have different advice. We'll all feel sorry for you!!! Keep us posted and please don't hesitate to ask for more help. We'll deal with the LD stuff when you start remembering ('walking before running' springs to mind&#33 In the meantime the tutorials are excellent, and you can use the search facility to find out pretty much anything that you could imagine about dreaming.

      Good Luck

Another question, when LDing, can you still move around, like go from room to room (in real life) and stay LDing?

No unless you're a sleepwalker, or don't have sleep paralysis.

Another question, in LD's , do you see how you normally do in real life, like first person, where you cant see yourself unless you look in a mirror? Or do you actually see yourself... I don't know if you understood what I just said, but if you did, and know the answer, please respond.

You can't become lucid without knowing you're dreaming. Being lucid means that YOU KNOW YOU'RE DREAMING.

I think I should just mention that we all dream. We all dream on average 6 times a night. Its just a matter of remember them.
