Hi, I was just thinking about what a lot of you have probably already thought about but i just wanna hear some opinions on it; seeing as we sleep 1/3 of our lives, and lucid dreaming allows us to utilise this time, dont you think lucid dreaming is really the next big step humans can take for a fuller life?! I think its unbelievable that we have the opportunity to learn something that will make our lives so much more fun and interesting whilst using time that we would be doing nothing with anyway, and yet lucid dreaming is still relatively unknown around the world... I mean in my eyes lucid dreaming should be bigger news than the internet! I really hope LDing gains a lot of recognition world wide in the near future, you can see by the amount of people joining that it is becoming increasingly popular but I wonder why it hasnt taken off on a large scale?

I think this is a lot more important than just a new age trend, or something like that, that a lot of people would probably dismiss it for... I really think there is something to dreams, like something really important and being that this is all relatively new I think big discoveries are just around the corner which is so exciting!

Lastly I have a request for anyone to do in their next lucid dream: I am so (so so so sooooo!&#33 curious as to what you see if you flew out to the edge of the universe, ie to where the big bang is up to and then flew over past that point and explored. It would be really interesting to hear what people see and to see if they are similar visuals... or even more interesting WHO you might see there!

I don't think I'll fly that fast... but the bad news about lucid dreams is it happens in REM sleep, thats when you most likly dream, and on average the older people get the less time you spend in REM. As babies they spend about half of there sleep in REM but then it drops from there. The most extra time you could get out of lucid dreaming would be around an hour. If the average person dreams 3-5 times a night (somewhere around there) and the dreams last around 20 minutes(I think) and this is only if you get really good at lucid dreaming you'll be able to get an extra hour per night out of life. But yes still more people should know about lucid dreaming...

ahhh I see, I was under the impression that if you trained you could lucid dream all night. but if its only an hour a night does that mean that mean than if you do a WILD and go straight into a lucid that your in REM then for the first hour of your sleep only?

from what i have read flying speed is only a matter of your imagination... so you could pretend you are going at some crazy speed billions of times faster than the speed of light and just arrive at the edge of the universe in seconds.. (so the journey wouldnt take much time and you have time to explore there).. let me know if you have any luck:-)

      Hmm,

I've always wanted to see what was beyond the edge of the universe. When I next become lucid, I will try this, but first I must work on stabilizing the dream. But go for it, sounds crazy nice.
