      You need Sleep Paralysis to enter a wild because your body needs to be completely out of tune with the outside world to actaully dream.

      Because, when you induce WILD, you always enter a lucid dream, but you don't always experience sleep paralysis before entering the dream. However, when you induce sleep paralysis, you always become paralyzed, but don't always enter a dream, lucid or otherwise. The methods for inducing both states are similar, if not identical, but they have different results
