I have, to date, had 1/2 of a lucid dream, in which the only thing I accomplished was making a chocalate cake appear, which I promptly ate. However, after reading many people's plights about not being able to do this or that in Lucid dreams, and reading some people's remedies, I have forumlated a list of probable solutions to dilemnas in hopes of creating a guide where people can learn how to do these things. Here we go:

-If you find yourself unable to reach a location that is anywhere in the entire universe, I have a few ideas on how you could attain such locations.
---1. The old door trick. I have heard it being done multiple times. Simply will that whatever is on the other side of the door is where you wish to go.
---2. Second floor trick. I've learned of this recently. If you want to go to another room of a building, then climb up some stairs and believe that the second floor is the floor you're searching for.
---3. Break-away floor trick. Supposedley, if you could find a way to break through the floor beneath you, then will that you will fall through the celing of the room you're trying to get to.
---4. Celestial Views (looking at the earth from space, going to Alpha Centauri, etc.) Flight is a possiblity I believe. Try to control your speed, and if possible, accelerate to the speed of light or faster, of course. While you're flying at vision-blurring speed, will that when you slow down, your vision will revert to your desired location.
---5. Magical Spellbook! My favorite theory. Simply cast a spell with a book; wand; cat; and in a shimmer of blue light you should appear where you want to be!
---6. (Thanks, Marvo&#33 The Spin Trick: You want to go somewhere? Start spinning! Spin as fast as you can and think of a place you want to go to. Slowly, you speed down and the location you thought of should be in your sight.

-Construction. By this, I mean willing the construction of your own buildings so that, hopefully in future LD's, you'll be able to return there. A type of "hometown" of a video game in a dream.
---1. The first method is the most obvious. Will that building to be there, and if you're lucky, it'll be there.
---2. If you have less "instantaneous creation" power than others, than try using a building that you have already seen in your life. Use the transportation methods described above and try to get there.
---3. If you are a masterful LD'er with massive amounts of concentration, control, and stupidity, than you might want to try building your building from scratch. Imagine wooden or steel frames, apply walls, floors, roofs, wallpaper, furniture, etc. Good luck.

-Superpowers! Everyone loves superpowers.
---1. Flight. I've heard many ways of how to do this; look around the forum you'll find them.
---2. Fireballs. You could try using the magic spellbook; wand; cat method again. Or concentration on your hand, and while looking at it, will that it will combust, while at the same time willing the heat to "gather up" in your palm.
---3. Invisibility. Four possible ways that I theorize. First, make your body out of clear, reflection-less glass. Second, magic spellbook; wand; cat. Third, and harder, will all people around you to be blind in your direction. And fourth, and hardest, bend light around you.
---4. Bending Light for invisiblity. This sounds really hard to me, of course I haven't tried it but I'll do it when I LD more frequently. Place yourself in a room with only one light source; i.e. and sealed room with no windowns but one lamp. Practice willing the light to go around your body, then try it with more light sources until you can do it naturally. Or, if you have a more fantastical control, surround yourself with a "cloak of darkness".
---5. (Thanks, Seeker&#33 The "Force". According to Seeker, it is possible to do many things by simple holding out your hand and pretend to use the force. Experiment with it!

Well these are my theories. Of course, they may not work at all, but oh well, I'll be using these methods to try to do those things anyway. If anyone knows of any other ways to do these things, or if someone can prove or disprove a method, post here and let me know! Thanks!

Nice list of ideas to try in dreams. Most of these I've heard of, except for the second floor trick. What I find works really good for me is either using a magic wand (like Harry Potter! ) or imaging whatever I want is behind me, turning around, and finding it there.

I use a Harry Potter wand too! Along with incantations such as "accio" and "lumos". I'm still working on conjuring though - the wand helps, but I'm still not great at it.

Nice list, Arachanox. I like how you had "1/2" of an LD (how is that, btw?) and in that time you ate a chocolate cake - that's awesome!

I call that dream a 1/2 LD because I could only faintly remember any control. When I woke up, I wasn't sure if it was an exteremly unfocused LD or just a dream where I thought I was lucid dreaming. I had said before I tried to LD that when I do my first one, I would eat a chocolate cake, because, if you read my signature, I'm allergic to cake .

But thanks for the comments guys! I'll probably whip up another batch later.

oh yeah, I remember that now. So it's the wheat protein in the foods that you can't eat? Well that's great you're making good use of your LDs by eating those foods that you normally can't!

It's gluten that I can't eat. It is in wheat, oats, malt, barley, semolina, and other simliar grains and such.

Add this to the "get to wherever you want" list.

- The Spin Trick: You want to go somewhere? Start spinning! Spin as fast as you can and think of a place you want to go to. Slowly, you speed down and the location you thought of should be in your sight.

I'd like to add my favorite. "Use the force <fill in name>!!!!!"

I find that if I just hold my hand out like a Jedi and use the force, I can do most things. I know it's a crutch, but it works for me
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Thanks for the contributions. I've added Marvo and Seeker's ideas.

Anyone else, post your methods for doing things in LDs!

Really, all that magic wands do for you is provide confidence. I mean, you trust that a wand can help... so it does. Its like carrying a lucky charm whilst performing in front of an audience. You give the wand its power because of "Magic".

What it does is that it gives you a channel to put your will through. People have read the books, seen the movies. The creative part of people's minds tell them that "you can do lots of cool things with wands". So when a person is in a lucid dream, that wand output can be very helpful.

You could try doing the whole Dorothy thing, and clicking your heels 3 times whilst saying 'I want to go .............' 'I want to go ............' and spinning! (seriously) xD
