Last night i attemped BillyBobs WILD technique, i went to bed, woke to my alarm about 5-6 hours later, drunk 3 gulps of coke, woke up my mind a bit more over the next hour, drunk 3 gulps of water and started, over the next half hour everyone in the house started getting up, my dad was sniffling, my sis was blowing her nose, then my mum got up and started running a bath, walks in my room and says "TIME TO GET UP", wtf, my parents never listen to me, i told everyone the night before what i was going to do and i needed them to be quiet the next morning so i could concentrate, but no, i was sat in bed for about 30 mins and i still wasnt falling asleep, i'm not sure if any induction technique is going to work, and whats worse, i had a dream that a girl i know from school joined these forums and i was actually on these forums and didnt realise that i was dreaming?!? Ah, i don't know what to do, my recall has been pretty sucky recently aswell, i seem to be getting nothing but failure recently, on BillyBobs tutorial it says that you have to get 5-7 hours of sleep, i got 5 hours of sleep and did this and was still too aware, no matter what i tell my pissing family they never listen, cunts

Seriously, I feel your pain. It can REALLY suck when you try everything and anything to get an LD or even a dream recall, but then to have it not work...

Still, don't get too discouraged. I swear, even though it sounds overly optimistic and all, be POSITIVE. I have only ever noticed improvement in ANY skills, not just LDing, when I was happy and confident. The way I see it, you can't feel BAD enough to change anything. Hey, you've made good progress already! I mean, you recall dreams alright, and some folks on DV can't even manage that easily!

As for the family bothering you, is there ever a time when they are guaranteed not to bother you? Maybe you should only attempt WILD when you know you'll have enough time to focus on it, like on weekends.

Thanks for the help, i have noticed that i seem to be best at WILDs because i can stay aware, but when it comes to falling asleep its almost impossible, i always have to give up my concentration and just go to sleep and lose concioussness, i do want to master my WILDs and start having them but i'm hesitant to carry on because every other time i have failed, i can try i suppose, maybe i will get bored of them and the excitement will drain away and i'll actually achieve it, who knows, as for the family, there a bunch of arseholes that don't listen to me, this is the thing, i would go to bed earlier, maybe about 8, but then i would have problems trying to get to sleep because they will be around the house, and i may not be very tired at about 8, and another thing, i doubt they would let me, i have exams in over the next two months and there making me revise from 11am-10pm, its so irritating, as for MILDs and similar techniques, suggesting it doesn't work, i always have to put a little more effort in.

      "drunk 3 gulps of coke"

      coke as coca-cola?
I would not recommend u to drink that. During the day ok, if u like it. But if u wake up in night better drink some 100% fruit cold juice(thou water is the best at night)
. One of many ingredients of coca-cola is cofein(or something similar to it) and u know that keeps u awake longer.

Yeah coca-cola, i think the idea of drinking it was to keep my mind awake, i may just be getting BillyBobs technique all wrong

WILD is already hard at is is, so i guess every little distraction ruins the technique. Perhaps you could try wearing some ear plugs? Or go to bed early so you can wake up before your family.

Don't give up on WILD, it takes many attempts to succeed.
      Good luck!

yeah, even though it has been known as a hard technique i want to be able to master it, my only problem is that it seems to interfere with my dream recall, i'm not getting as many dreams as i did when i didn't try WILDing, i'll keep at it though, i suppose it just requires a little adjustment, i normally go to bed at about 12:30 and get to sleep round 1ish, so maybe i should try going to bed a little earlier like you said, maybe 10?

If you are unable to sleep early enough so that you can sleep five hours and avoid your family's distractions I think it would be better do it for less than five hours.
