Hey, just before i go into this, sorry for posting loads of topics of me moaning about not suceeding, i'm being very defeatist and impatient, i need to learn that things come in time, not straight away, sorry.

Once again today i was sat down, i got comfortable, turned on my ipod and started listening to some relaxing music, then a song came on, it was a mystical song and almost instantly in my mind came a picture of like a civilisation deep in an enchanted forest, now saying that will probably mean nothing to you, but thing was that it felt as real as a lucid dream, it was almost like a haluscination, it felt very real and just like many other things it has been added to the list of things to do in a lucid dream. Now i was just curious about a few things, i'll put em below.

What things would you like to do in a lucid dream that stand out from typical things such as flying or running at the speed of light, things that are individual to you as a person?

What is SP like, how long does it normally take you to get into it as well as which conditions normally help to induce SP?

How long of practicing a WILD did it take you to have your first LD using the WILD technique?

How can i avoid being to aware, like how can i reduce being excited and worried, how can i get my body to sleep and keep my mind awake, ot does it just take practice?

Thanks if anyone could answer any of these questions, i'm just a little curious, once again sorry for the moaning posts that i've been doing recently, thanks

PS - People seem to have the problem of not being aware enough and falling asleep when trying WILDs, me its the exact opposite, i'm too aware, so aware that i cannot get to sleep, any suggestions would be absolutely awesome, thanks alot!

I'm not an expert with WILDs or SP because I haven't experienced both. How ever I can tell you that WILDing is hard for newbies and usually throws them off of LDing if they don't succeed after a certain amount of time. Just stick to MILDs and WBTB.

I started off with MILDs but they don't do any good for me, i tried for a couple of weeks a while back, they suck for me, WBTB never seemed to work either, WILD seems to be my best approach, though i'm sure you disagree with what i'm sayin but i know that if i keep at it and put in the effort i can achieve WILDs eventually, i just have to keep motivated, find ways to improve and just overall keep at it

A personal goal? Well, being that I once had the hobby of writing stories [never finished 1/2 of them] because my friends kept bugging me to, I'd like to meet some of the character I've created and see how they'd take to me [I know one might go emo on me and another might chase me around the world if they knew I was the cause of the good and bad in their life].

WILDs? Wow, you're a determined one, I tried to do those a long time ago but never seemed to suceed, I'd get up to HI and somehow lose my train of thought and not become lucid. WBTB is kind of hard for me too so I can understand why you'd rather do something else

thanks for the reply, well i know that its a bit of a big goal but i'm good at staying aware, as i said though i find it hard to go to sleep, with practice i'm sure i can do it. WBTB never really worked for me but i don't know why but WILDs seem to be the one for me and one more thing, call me a noob but what is "HI"? Hypnotic induction?? sorry i've seen it been used a couple of times but never sure what it means

HI = Hypnagogic imagery, don't call yourself a noob, it takes time to memorize some of the abbreviations but even if you do every now and then I come across one I haven't heard before too so it's no big deal [at least, in my eyes that doesn't make you a noob since everyone goes through that phase here when they start]

EDIT- Here's the site's acronym list for ya ^^ http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/inde...showtopic=3243

Methinks those with poor recall find WILD easier than MILD.

at the end of the day i suppose you could see a WILD in two different ways, an easy way out for someone who is to lazy to recall there dreams until they realise how hard trying to WILD actually is, and for people who want a challenge because they believe that if they put in the time they will get good results. My recall aint too bad, i'm going for the WILD because MILD's do not work for me for some reason, i've heard you also get better results with WILDs, more vivid when you enter, its more of an experience apparantly, lol Richter i could watch your avatar all day!

Hehe, thanks. I'm a big Castlevania/Richter/Belmont fan, so yeah...

I'm not trying to cut on anybody's recall; it's just personally I have had terrible recall, and WILDs have been easier for me cause I don't have many dreams to work with when MILDing. Hopefully that'll change though.

Does MILD work at all for you? Like, can you re-enter dreams you previously had, even if they aren't lucid?

If you have problems sleeping I would suggest trying it when you are more tired. I have only had SP once, but at the begining I had kind of a wierd tingling feeling. When it got deep into it almost felt like my body didn't even exist.

The following that i am going to say will prove that MILDs do not work for me, last night i went to bed at 11 so that i could wake up earlier to do another WILD, i layed in bed for about an hour, once again i couldn't get to sleep, then my bro bursts through the door after a nigt out and i wake up even more, so eventually i think "screw it" and i went downstairs on the PS2 until i felt tired, i was on it until about 2, i wasn't even that tired when going to bed at 2, i went up to bed and aborted the WILD and tried a MILD, i told myself that i would lucid dream, i went to sleep and remembered one dream when waking, i then tried the MILD again to see if i could re-enter the previous dream and become lucid, but no i didn't, i didn't remember anything and woke up about 10 minutes ago, i think it may be excitement or me worrying about stuff but my mind seems to try and avoid WILDs, i'll try again tonight, i should be getting a new mattress today
