• Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

      Hi, I'm new to the forum, but have been able to lucid dream occasionally for some time.

      Anyway, I had an incredible lucid dream last night, It felt like it lasted for hours. I swam through shipwrecks, I explored ruins, I had sex with some amazing girls, but whenever I attempted ot fly I just fell. I tried changing my surrounding so that I was already above the ground, but I fell right back down, I tried saying that I was going to fly. I don't think it was my sense of logic holding me back, I dove from 2 stories into a puddle on the street.

      Also here is another question. I've lucid dreampt a few times without it, but last night I had quite a bit to drink (I'm in college), does that effect the ability to lucid dream? I ask because usually my lucid dreams last only a few minutes, but I kept this one going and going (which is why I previously described it as incredible.)

      OK, enough with the cheesy quotes.

      Alcohol inhibits REM sleep, until it wears off, when you catch up on the lost REM sleep. Your dreams would all be at the end of your sleep before you wake up.

      This is why, "Gin gives you nightmares." - dreams are easier to remember when you wake up from them, but not necessarily nightmares.

      I think the alcohol relaxed you, so you didn't get over excited once you were lucid, and this helped you stay lucid. - and having all your dream sleep at once, when your sobered up, gave you the opportunity for a loong dream.

      You say you swam through shipwrecks, well, try exactly that but outside of the water. What I do, in NDs, is fall backwards and kind of know that the invisible water will catch me, and then I swim in the air wherever I want to go. It's kind of a progressive thing, I fall a few times, but just try and pretend you're a feather and mimic the motions. Once you do it once, you'll believe you can do it again and again.

      (I hope that was vaguely helpful without sounding extremely cheesy.)

      I tend to drink a lot of water before I go to sleep. like 1/3 or 1/2 a litre to be exact. It really helps me stay lucid, as well as prevents me from waking up at lunch-time.

      Alcohol kills my dreams, plus, I'd have to go to the bathroom like 1 hour after I fell asleep, ;_;

      Sense of reality and logic can really get in the way, but the biggest thing to focus on, or you see the actual spring reverberate through your fingernails (as if you're a ghost,) before you begin place it down.

      Then you gotta focus more >3

      When I first started Lucid Dreaming, I would try to fly by flapping my arms.
      But, I could move other objects through the air with my mind quite well.

      But when I thought about it, it seemed kind of silly to fly, by flapping my arms.
      There is no gravity after all, And if there was, flapping your arms still wouldnt help.

      So I decided to try to move myself through the air, the same way I move other objects.
      And it worked great! I could now fly with perfect control. This is how I always fly now.

      You should try reaching out with your mind, and try feeling an object. You should be
      able to grab on to it, and send it flying through the air.

      Once you get used to that locked on feeling, just try doing the same thing to yourself.
      It works the same way, and you will become a master of the air.
