I keep hearing about how 'anything is possible' in lucid dreaming. I don't doubt that; there's no reason to. So a few days ago I was thinking and I suddenly wondered what it would be like to 'split' your awareness in a LD. Make a dream clone of yourself, and your subconscious takes in the sensory information from both parts.

Has anyone tried this, or anything similar before? I'd really like to know what this could result in, regardless of the placebo it would place on me...
      LD Count: 7
Longest time in a lucid dreamstate: ~6 seconds

Still, the most epic six seconds I have ever experienced...

I made a post about this a few weeks ago...it's around in the forum somewhere under "split consciousness?" I think.
It's certainly a very interesting idea, it'd be quite confusing though if anyone could pull it off! You'd be able to accomplish two or more things at once! I'm not proficient enough at LDs yet, and I've still got some other "more important" things to do in my Lucid's first, but as soon as I get better at them I'm totally going to try this one!

Thanks, I wasn't sure if this had been talked about at all here.
      For completeness, [url=http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44789]here's that topic[url].
I think this is good enough to be bumped to the top of my lucid To Do list, so as soon as I get the patience to WILD one night I'll try it.

Another quick question. I've hesitated trying to WILD straight when I go to bed because I know how the REM period will be so far away. I'm mainly afraid of not getting enough sleep. I know the key to WILDing is awareness while going to sleep, but just to put a rest to my probably irrational fears, wouldn't the body go to sleep anyway? So I would still be 'sleeping', correct?
I'm hoping someone can tell me I won't wake up feeling like I missed hours of sleep...
