Ok this is happening quite a lot now.

I will be dreaming, and to become lucid I have to sleep in my dream to then realise it. It's hard to explain, for example last night. I was dreaming, and was in my flat, well a flat that was similar, and during my dream i knew I wanted to become lucid, so i had to go to sleep in my dream. But the strange thing was i then did the reality checks, but they didnt work. Was weird, i couldnt put my finger through my hand, and the more i tried the more my dream would fade, to try take control i stared at my hands but that didnt work so tried spinning, and i remember none of it working, so gave up and entered my dream again. Decided to try again, but had to sleep again.

This is the 4th time in the last couple of weeks now, wondered if anyone had any ideas why my dreams might be going like this?

      Adam.

Ok, i'm not sure why they occur but if this is disrupting your flow of lucid dreams and its really annoying then i can help you, now its a tricky one because you don't become fully lucid which denies control am i right? Well, a way of changing it would be to keep on thinking positive thoughts for a start, never doubt that you have the ability to have a decent lucid dream at your demand, you have to keep this positive attitude all the way through this period of annoying inductions, another way that may help is by planning your dreams the night before, tell youself that you will not try and have a lucid by falling asleep within the dream, tell yourself that you will make sure that you are in a dream, also practice your RC's when planning to go to bed, this hopefully should carry into the dream so that when you think you need to go to sleep to have a lucid within the dream you will do an RC and there you have it, if none of these work just pm me and i'd be glad to help i may not be an experienced lucid dreamer but i can help as much as i can!

Its not so much an annoyance, well it is, because I don't seem to be in full control. I was aware of what I had to do to become fully lucid, so I guess what your saying is right, I need to at that point take control and realise that I am dreaming at this point. It's weird as only started to happen recently. Will try this tonight then, and see if I can prevent it

Will report back in the morning

You apparently have some experience with Lding. If you want to grasp the full potential of your ability I suggest you start by doing away with the reality check. With your experience, doing a RC is like forcing an olympic swimmer to do laps in a kiddie pool. Learn to recognize the transition into the dreamstate by the "feel" rather that by your everyday senses.
What a long, strange trip it's been.
