      EeeEeeK!

I just woke up, registered and I'm posting this.
Last night I was surfing around and remembered about lucid dreaming, so I did a google search and found this site.
There was a time in my life when I'd have many dreams with some degree of lucidity, but it's no longer that way. I've read some stuff about it since then, but I never kept a dream journal because I don't want to write my dreams down. In the movies journals are always read by people who shouldn't do so, and some of my dreams are really weird, I'd have to burn the journal later or people would think I'm crazy.
Anyway, I read the tutorials on this site and went to sleep at about 12:00am. Less then three hours later I woke up spontaneously and recalled one dream. I remember doing it, but I don't remember the dream anymore. I went to sleep and sometime later I did it again. And again I don't know what was the dream anymore, but I'm sure I knew it when I kind of woke up (this time I wasn't fully conscious, I think).
Then a few minutes ago I woke up and I remember some bits of my last dream. A dying talking dinosaur, a woman eaten by wild pigs, some nonsense. There was also a part when I watched from a hill this guy from brazilian TV. He was with a mic doing some journalistic report near a van on a rock next to a river. Then he jumped from the rock into the river but didn't sink! I knew it was because he had something that floated inside his pants, and now the interesting part: I remember saying to myself "gee, what a crazy dream, wait until I wake up and tell all this to my brothers!". Of course I won't do so, but I KNEW I was in a dream. For some reason, though, I didn't even bother trying to change it. I just watched it passively, as a regular dream, as a movie being played to me.
Anyway, I was so happy with this (I think it must have some value), and the fact that I could wake up to recall the dreams, that I came here and wrote it. I'm not even sure I'm posting it in the right place, I was anxious to do so and didn't read much of the forum.
Now I'd like some insightful thoughts, please!

Welcome and congrats on your semi-lucid dream! Lots of people have experiences where they know they are dreaming but remain inactive. You'll get there soon!

If you are truely worried about the journal, you can post your dreams in the Dream Journal section of the forums everyday, or you can use a wordprocessor with password protection. I believe Identity X's dream software has a password feature now too.

or do what i do and write your dreams in a language that your family/friends dont speak, writing from the top of the page to the bottom, and the lines go right to left...makes it very incomprehensible, and after awhile, becomes second nature to do so...

      Welcome!

It is usually difficult to interpret anothers dream. You are the best person to interpret!

Welcome again and good luck growing!

      Thanks for the welcome folks.
Seeker, I agree with you. My post was more about the semilucidity than about the content of the dream. I understand that the symbols are personal, but sometimes I think dreams are really nonsense. I find some beauty in chaos, though.
Back to reading now, this forum is quite interesting. Thanks for the tips, Squall.

This will happen a lot as you practice LDs. Instead of waking up frustrated that you didn't use the full potential of the dream, just tell yourself that if you're this far after one night think of where you'll be in a few months. The smallest bit of progress is still progress.

Sounds like somebody needs to work on his dream recall!

Yeah, I took a psychology class at my university during one semester, it was great. I'm a film major though. Freud was weird, but interesting. Jung was amazing, I really thing he was on the right tracks...

the more i read about other people's dreams, the more i find that they have some sort of hidden message(s) in them. i am a believer in that they do offer useful insight.
