      Behind the looking glass?

I'm a newbie here and I'm sorry if this topic is misplaced or has already been raised, but I was wonderring, if my question isn't too strange for any of you, if anyone has ever "ventured" into their own mind during a lucid dreaming and gone "deep" into their mind (sort of like using your dreams as meditation, except I don't meditate).

Why do I ask? Because at one point I had a project and it was to create a kind of image of what my mind would look like if it was a real world. I won't go into detail of why I scrapped the project, however I want to know if any others have used lucid dreaming for anything of the sort and gone "behind the looking glass" or if this idea makes any sense to anyone at all besides me.

I'm sorry if I seem idiotic to you, but I've never spoken to another lucid dreamer before.

It funny that you used looking glass in the topic. Last night I had a lucid dream and I went through a mirror. Everything was black and I felt like I was "falling" deeper into my mind. I fell for like 30 seconds and I ended up in a house. Everything was more clear and I had more control.

It makes perfect sense to me. I enjoy a little self exploration. Alric has mentioned a great tool for self exploration. Mirrors!

Mirrors can help you discover the 'real' you. I always look for them when lucid dreaming. So much cool stuff happens.

You can go through them, you can use them to find your inner self.

Probably one of the coolest things that happened to me one time was this:

I was looking in the mirror and there were two images. The one in the forground was me, it followed my movements and accurately reflected my image.
The second one was in the background and was also me, but it was moving independantly, watching and analyzing both me and the image in the foreground.

Really freaky. This was a couple of months ago and I haven't had anything like it happen since.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

You'll be hard-pressed to find a question that is too wierd for most of us here at the forum.

I've never personally done this but its one of my goals. I want to materialise my subconcious and ask it stuff.

      That would rock so much.

I saw someone sneaking around in a mirror before. I just saw them out of the corner of my eye though and didn't get a good look at them.

I used the words "behind the looking glass" from Alice in Wonderland. Anywas, more to the point...

I've never heard of mirrors being of any use, then again this is the first time I ever talk with another lucid dreamer. I'll try creating a mirror and walking through it next time.

At one point I had a dream that lasted all night. At the start I was a roman legionair from the comic book series Asterix and at the end I was a drug dealer in the 20th century. As a roman I had a mission and had to carry a message, but by the time the 20th century had come around I had forgotten it. Then I realized it was a dream and made the logic that if it was my dream world, created by me, that everything and everyone in it was me. The whole population of the "world" became me and I asked:
      "What was the message"
And they all answered in reply at the same time:
      "You're care-free."

The message was useless seeing as I already know it, but I thought it'd be interresting for anyone that wants to do some "inner exploring".

I'm a novice on this board and the same goes with lucid dreaming.

I have read about such things as, you say "behing the looking glass" like discovering your innerself, becoming Enlightenment, blablablablabla...

The last chapter of "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreams" is about that. Bascially, it says to repeat your desire aloud (i.e. What is the meaning of life? What is my purpose? Who am I? etc.) when you enter a lucid dream by using one of the many induction methods.

For now I'm practicing the induction methods and to discover which one I prefer

That is my greatest objective when it come to life and lucid dreaming. I try to learn more and more in every LD, but the last few times I have just dedicated myself to have some fun and try stuff like summoning objects and fly and ultraspeed...

Like two weeks ago a summoned my dream guide, but unfortunately I was not lucid enough to ask her what I wanted. She sort of told me to come along and got in a car. I, instead, prefered taking a motorcycle(PCJ900 for those that play GTA:VC). Then, after riding for awhile it faded and I was at some super market. I then tried to summon her again but was unable to...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

You can do it with meditation. It'd be known thereafter as your "power animal".

~Lord of the Flies who wonders who came up with that name...it sounds kinda corny (to me).
