      Everything worth it comes free...

I've tried WILDs, I've tried MILDs, and I've tried DILDs, but all I've gotten was... well, nothing. When I was younger, I found that all I had to do to control my dreams was simply thinking it before I went to bed. Now, this brings me to the theory... is it trying that makes it so hard?

Well, I was lying in bed some nights ago, and found that I couldn't feel my body. It felt like there was sort of a stick going through one ear and coming out the other with a ringing. Soon, lights began flashing and I felt my eyes twitching. Despite what I read hours ago, I panicked and opened my eyes. After that, there was no trying anymore.

Some time later I tried it again, and it wasn't as effective. I was using my own technique and found myself in SP in no time, and having HIs just like that. But this is where my question comes in:

What is the most effective way to enter the dream?

Everything I've read either hasn't worked, or were so redundant I just forgot about them. I've also read that there is no one effective way to enter, so just give me your best advice. So can anyone give me any techniques on entering the dreams without being too wordy?
In a world where darkness is fear, there's always that light at the end of the tunnel.

I would LD at will when I was a kid. I somehow lost the ability when I grew up. I don't know why - it has maybe something to do with a child's brain chemistry?

Anyway, I didn't know there was an official name for them until I found an article about it in '98. Since then, I had tried hard to have them on and off; I wouldn't get too successful either. I gave the whole thing up and got into energy work. After awhile, I noticed that the more constant I would get with my energy routine before bed, the more I'd remember dreams. Sometimes, I would even get lucid ones. Then, three weeks ago, I started to sleep longer and my lucid dreams spontaneously came back.

I would advise you to make sure you get enough hours of sleep before trying to LD again. Being physically tired messes with my dream recall. A bit of meditation could also help. Once you notice yourself getting spontaneously lucid, try inducing them with other methods. Good luck!
