Many anti-depressants ( such as Cymbalta ) increase serotonin level, which represses REM and dreams. This however this sometimes causes and REM rebound effect: REM is repressed during the first time of the night, and during the later part of the night when the anti-depressants effect wanes, REM is increased as if to compensate for the reduced REM during the first part of the night, and causes unusually vivid dreams. This effect can vary depending on the type of drug, the dosage, and the time you take it. |
