First of all, in my personal experience, lucid dreams are actually likelier to occur when my dreams aren't too absurd for some reason.
And second... (skip this part if you're not interested in me reciting EWLD while I should be trying to have my own lucid dreams or something).
Dreamsigns aren't necessarily things like pink hippos fighting eachother in cookie-shaped UFO's. In Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming, they are categorized by four different kinds:
- "inner", meaning you experience strange/unusual emotions (compared to the ones you'd normally experience in your situation in the dream).
- "action", meaning you, or something else in the dream did something impossible or practically impossible.
- "form", meaning something changed shape or is constantly changing shape. Or maybe something doesn't like like it's supposed to (when I say something I may also be referring to DCs or to yourself).
- "context", meaning you are in a place you'd never normally be at, or people from your school are at your uncle's birthday or whatever.
There are bound to be things in your dreams that fit into one of these categories. Be sure to keep a dreamjournal. If nothing in it is out of the ordinary, try recording every single detail you can think of from your next dream(s). Count which category you encounter most in your dreams and after ten dreams or so, you'll know what to look for.
