      If You Had 10,000 Hours

If you gave yourself 10,000 hours to practice lucid dreaming and/or to exercise your brain so that you could lucid dream perfectly, what activities could you do that would see you progressively getting better, rather than just having hit and miss experiences?

I chose 10,000 hours becauseI heard on a tv documentary about happiness I think it was, that super experts/champions of the world generally have all spent at least this amount of time perfecting/ exercising their abilities.

constant reality checks, more meditating. and btw, most of us here probably have more than 10,000 hours left to live, but i dont think we have the self control to use it all to our advantage.

I think 10,000 hours probably means you would have to train for at least 35 hours per week in order to be a world champion.

not consecutive right? i'd probably read different books, you know books that take different stances on lucid dreaming or the mind in general then i would give meditation a go. maybe practice better sleeping habits?

I'd spend a lot of time exploring this site, reading books, researching and of course sleeping. Of course, knowing me, I'd have to have a very dedicated schedule to LD and probably replace school with it.

First I would sedate anyone who asked me what i would do in 10,000 hours to practice lucid dreaming.

Also, next time when your making a topic title, rather than making a title like you did, make one like: 10,000 hours to practice lucid dreaming what would you do

I thought that this thread was going to be about if you had 10,000 hours left to live...

I wouldn't spend 10000 hours of my life doing just one thing anyways. (Unless it's sex )

      Yeah...

      Concecutively... Mmmm.

I read on another forum this would be an example...

If you are looking through unread topics, would you rather read...

      HLP!111 NoT fIRING!

      OR

      Help! Cannon not firing!

For all I know, I think they are talking about not firing sperm for the first one (but surely only ffx would make a thread like that) ...

makes sense... but i don't see anything flipping me off so i believe the effect you wanted is lacking... of course this isn't true if you think the whole world is relative to you alone.

okay...enough with the middle finger thing.... I'm 18 and think its immature on both sides. Lets get back to the thread topic.

If I had 10,000 hours to practice lucid dreaming I would speak with many other lucid dreamers in order to learn and practice their lucid techniques to become a better lucid dreamer.

... Because you r natural, and you are lucky you dont need to practice to have LD, you just need to practice skills you have in LD

I want to be natural too

maybe i'll succeed with WILD this time ;]]]

I'm sory if I am a natural, but it can't be helped. Actually, I wish I had worked at becoming lucid, I would be more proud of it that way. Also, I would feel like I earned it. But, if I could send some of my dreams that way I would.

      Hope you succeed with WILDing.

Keep that optimism. If you lose your optimism you lose your humanity. Keep trying, you'll succeed eventually.

If I would have 10000 hours to practice LDing I would try and become as aware as it is humanly possible, so that everytime I fall asleep I know that I am dreaming, like if I was a natural. I would also have high level lucidty every dream, because of how high I would make my awareness be...

I don't know if this is possible, but with 10000 hours of practice it might just be...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...
