      whats it like?

can someone tell me whats it like to do that 'WILD' thing that lots of people are talking about, like is it scary kinda, or exciting, and like after you can do it does it get easier? and if you wanted could you instantly just pull out of it?
Im just curious :p i might start to try this, or i could try another way, anyone know the best way to start off?

WILD is one of the more difficult techniques, and is very different for different people. Some find it very uncomfortable. I rather enjoy it.

There are those who can do it at will. I can't. If I've had an LD during the night, I can often do repeated WILDs afterward.

What it's like for me is letting my body fall asleep while hanging gently on to a "thread of consciousness," which is kind of hard to explain. I have to let things happen without too much analysis, but maintain conscious awareness as an observer. Two methods I use for this are repeating a mantra or counting, and concentrating on the development of hypnogogic imagery.

When I find myself looking at a full 3d space, I have to "let go" and essentially fall asleep or I will wake up. When I let go, it is with the absolute expectation that I will remember I'm dreaming in a few moments. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.

Check out the tutorials - lots of stuff there. A search will bring up dozens (if not hundreds) of threads on WILDing.

i like to WILD. its one of the hardest techniques, and if you havent ever WILDed before, it can be very difficult. Took me forever to get my first WILD, but after like 5 WILDs it started getting way easier. I can instantantly get out of it when i want, (not that i would ever want too. lol) its still pretty tough, (still expierementing with those vibrations) Good luck if you do try it, if i were you i would start out with DILDs though.

It's awesome. Freaky funny imagery, wind rushing sounds, feeling of sinking into the bed and flying at high speeds. All that, plus a lucid dream.

I certainly don't find it uncomfortable; in fact I usually have them repeatedly in the mornings. I'll be in a LD for a while, and then if i happen to wake up i won't move a muscle or open my eyes and be able to slip right back to where i was in the dream. This results in LDs that can last for 20-40 mins if I’m lucky. Never got any of the weird body sensations people describe, just focus on the imagery behind your eyelids and you kind of pull yourself into it until its 3d, hard to explain just takes practice.
