Could this of been my 5th Lucid?

Hey, my exams over and last night all i can remember now is a faint dream, but i remembered more earlier this morning when i was awake, basically i was in the dream and i don't know what did it but i somehow just knew, i said to myself "i know this is a dream", i pretty much knew for sure, but then everything started to get blurry, like it normally does, i didn't bother to do an RC so i just tryed to increase the vividness, i rubbed my hands together, that didn't work so then i tried spinning round but thats the last thing i remember because i think i drifted back into the dream, i didn't prove i was dreaming with an RC but i dfinately knew for sure i was dreaming.

Wait, i'm remembering more of the dream now, i was getting ready for school i think but i was like already ready, and my mum said something like "you must be dreaming, you normally do much more things to get ready" and i thought to myself "yeah, i do" i began to visualise my waking life and what i'd normally do to get ready for school, it didn't come to me that i have finished school but i know i had a fairly aware state because i was aware enough to do the rubbing hands and the spin to try increase vividness, it was really difficult to do aswell, i saw my hands and i started to rub them but it was like sand paper against sand paper, they wouldn't budge at first but then i kept trying and it began to work, they began to rub, i saw my hands and then the dream began to fade more and then i spun and must have lost all my awareness.

Could anyone please help me with this, i'm just not sure what you would class it as, i believe that i knew for sure but i didn't do an RC to check, what are your thoughts? Thanks alot.

Looks like you're having LDs caused by DILDs. Sometimes you can't save your dreams from fading. Either you're too excited, or you're dreaming is just at its end. My advice is to do an RC anyway, tell your subconscious that you know you're dreaming, even though it may already know.

I've heard of people saying that just knowing you're dreaming isn't called lucid, but some people differ. I say that that was a lucid.

Yeah i know it must have been a DILD but thinking back now i do remember feeling excited, looking at my mum thinking "YEAH, i did it again!!" So i really need to make sure that i'm not too excited, hopefully if i begin to get more lucids the novelty will wear off and i won't be too bothered that i just induced one. But i really need to get the realism up to standard and keep he dream stabilised. Those are my secondary objectives because since i had such a long dryspell between my third and fourth i need to keep working on my dream vividness etc because thats the one thing that seems to effect whether i can lucid dream or not. Thanks for the reply though.

Update - I was just thinking then, normally if i'd had a lucid dream and got excited i would of woken up shortly after losing lucidity however in this one i just drifted back, i remembered nothing, maybe its possible i was leaving my REM period when i became lucid, or i may not of, thanks for any help, really appreciate it, it just helps me understand the reasoning behind these things a little better.
