(N00B Question) Uhh is this considered a lucid dream? (HELP)

I know, I know, most people simply say that if you are aware you are dreaming, it is a lucid dream. Now last night i became aware that I was dreaming in the dream (DILD). Even though I knew it was a dream i still felt hesitant to do some things and almost thought it would effect me in my waking life. (Example: Hesitant to "kiss" a girl thinking she might have known what i did in my waking life). So can anyone help me? It seems like I know that I was lucid, but still lacked intelligence and didn't understand everything. I know you are dumber in dreams but is this sort of thing normal?

It might sound confusing, but it was almost like even though i knew i was dreaming, it still felt weird when i woke up and seemed like i wasn't intact with reality when i was dreaming, if that makes any sense at all..

Sometimes its difficult to do new things in LD. I remember when I was flying then suddenly I became lucid...yes I do fly alot now in dreams and not relize that im dreaming. While I was lucid I decided to try to reach my goal and get into outerspace. So I created a portal that I would hope to go into the great beyond unfortunatly I got a sudden sensation of fear and nervousness so I decided that I would not go.

I see but that wasn't exactly my question....I was wondering if it is normal to be lucid and still not intact with the REAL reality, and even be hesitant in dreams thinking it would effect you in waking life, when in waking life, you realize you can do anything you want in dreams with no real consequences.

I hope I am explaining this good enough, if you have any questions feel free to ask.

If anything by practicing in the lucid would cause you to be more comfortable doing it in waking life.

Well, there are different "levels" of lucidity. You were definitely lucid, from your description, but you might just have been on a lower level. Like... you knew you were dreaming, but you didn't realize the full implication of what that meant. I've had similar experiences.

I've heard this starts to go away with practice.

Well it sounds like you were aware at "The Possibility It Could Be A Dream." In other words you were thinking that you could have quite possibly been a dream, yet since you were not 100% sure you were hesitant to perform various tasks. So what should you have done? A reality check may have been your best bet in this situation. Had you checked a clock etc. to make sure you were dreaming you may have not had this problem.

Being aware and being lucid, while they may go hand in hand, are completely different. If you were aware thats all kibbles and bits, but for you to be Lucid you have to know you are dreaming and accept that and then perform tasks. Now you were somewhat aware at the fact that you could be dreaming, but were hesitant to perform any tasks. Why? Because you were hesitant. Once you get past being hesitant it will open up a whole new world.

Oh and if you are Lucid you have all of your logic in tact and know what you are doing hence you are not stupid. It is when you are not lucid that your I.Q. takes a significant punch.

To me it once or twice happened that my mind was split in 2 parts:
      1) The dream-controlling and non-lucid part, and 2) the lucid part, trying to interfere. I even heard my 1st part's thoughts, well, they were my thoughts, but somehow, they weren't :S

The thing is, i knew i was dreaming. i was hesitant thinking it might actually have consequences in my waking life. Now, of course i wouldn't think that IN my waking life, but in my dreams i did. Also i dont remember to fly or anything, and i have false awakenings in places that dont exist. The same thing happened last night, i dont get it.

Hmm so you are having a lucid dream but you are hesitant to do anything because you think it could have consequences in your waking life? Well whatever you do in your dream is going to have no consequences in your waking life. If you go and make sure you are dreaming then......

Hmm sounds like more of a personal problem to me once I am lucid dreaming I do whatever I want because I know it's not real and simply a dream.

Sounds like you are going through some denial or something.

Your I.Q. has to do with you being Lucid or Not.
If you are Lucid you will retain your normal I.Q.
If you are not Lucid your I.Q. will go down teh shitter.

Well if you were hesitant just that one time then I don't see it being that big of a problem. I have also been hesitant to do things in dreams even though I knew I was dreaming and I was free to do whatever I wanted. What you wanted to do probably went against your morals or what you would do in waking life and carried over to your dream. However if you never did anything in your dream that you wouldn't do in real life you are really limiting what you are fully capable of doing try to get past that and have it's your dream do with it what you want.
