Yes if you just wake up your mindset may be on what just happened until you realize that you are awake. It could of been a false awakening if that was a dream as well. |

So last night I had this small dream where I was running, and I then just jumped into water. My dream started fading (I was waking up) and while I was waking up, I was coughing. When I was awake in my bed, I thought something like "I was probably coughing because I was just in water" (I actually thought I was really in water, even though I knew I just woke up from a dream). So, does dream logic carry over for a few seconds into the real world, or was this probably a false awakening? |

Actually, I would dare to say it does carry over. Everytime I have dreamed about winning the jackpot, I slowly wake up, thinking I'm rich. Or, maybe, that the winning ticket is in my pocket. This only lasts for about five to ten seconds before I realize, (insert expletive here). |

Well i know dream desires carry over. IE: if i have a dream about swimming, i'll wake up and really want to go to the river or pool that day; or if i have a sex dream about someone, i'll wake up really horny thinking about them. |

Dream logic definitely carries over without question. I can't tell you how many times my dad has gotten up after napping on the couch only to give us a strange command or comment that makes no sense. Plus, I remember a time when I woke up after a dream about laser tag and asked my brother where everyone went (we shared a room). |

Yes, I believe it carries over. I remember once my mom woke me up and I told her, "The crow calls!" She looked at me with a puzzled expression and said, "What???" I replied, "You know, the crow calls!" I then walked down the hall and used the bathroom. A few seconds later I snapped out of it and had no clue why I had just said that. |

DREAM ON
I think if you are still half asleep dream logic does carry over. I've woken up from dreams thinking they were real lots of times. Once I had a dream my leg was cut off, and when I woke up I had to look to make sure it was still there. |

Oh yes, that logic does stick with you for a few tid bits. I can safely say that when I've awoken I'm still thinking like I would in the dream. Once, while I was living the [dreamed] life of a hobo who burnt his [yes... I was guy in that dream] leg on a scalding hot pan. I woke up and I had to check if my leg was fine... it felt a bit cold but it was fine |

It sticks with me so strongly, I often have difficulty distinguishing memories of dreams with memories of reality. For example, I'll be talking to someone, and start telling them a story, and then realize that the story couldn't have been true because of some contradiction. |

I'm sure it does. Many times my mom wakes me up for school and I say something completely out of the blue (sorry I can't remember any examples I forget them by the time I get up) and my mom is like WTF? |

The first dream I've ever recorded in a dream journal was about aliens taking over the Earth. Here's an excerpt from my dream journal of when I woke up: |
