Exclamation i think i was close....

it was the afternoon and i was feeling a little sleepy i thought'this would be a good time to try a WILD since my body would be able to fall asleep quicker. so i lay down and i promised myself that i would move at all and started counting my breaths (1-im dreaming, 2-im dreaming etc) and imagine the figures in my head.

i think it was when i got to around the 80's that my heart started beating really quickly, as if i had run a race. when i got to about 150 i stopped imagining the numbers in my head. i didnt feel the tingling sensation that some people say they feel but my body felt warm and kinda heavy. my heart was still racing and i felt as it was pulsing all the way down to my stomach and hands. in my eyes i could see a very dull white light that moved down repetitively into a flame-like shape. this image was not vivid or realistic at all, its just the kind of white images you see when you close your eyes when its dark.

At this point i remembered that some people say try move you dream fingers inside you hand withought using physical energy so i slowly tried to move my "dream fingers" and it really felt like i was moving different fingers to my physical ones. then i tried to lift my dream arm up but it ended up being my real arm. did it make a difference that i was looking at my arm whereas i could see my fingers?

After that i had no chance of going back into it because my little brother came in to tell me mum was homelol

Does anyone have any tips on what i could so to improve my WILDing? and do you think i was close this time?

thanks heaps to anyone who replies. any help is great

What I highlighted in bold was your Hypanogenic (spelling?) Imagery. That means you're getting close to a dream. Instead of doing that reality check with you're fingers and possibly losing your chance. A friend on here told me to just do a reality check in your mouth. Try and put your tougne through the roof of your mouth. I don't know if it works or not but it seems reasonable. By the looks of it you're getting close though so don't give up!

sounds like you were pretty close there mate. That technique is the best i know for WILDing and i use it pretty much whenever i want to WILD these days, as it is pretty easy and has a higher chance of WILDing than any other techs i know of.

I would suggest not performing a reality check at that point as SP hasnt set in totally and it is too easy to get a tad bit confused with your heart rate spiking and all the other weird sensations and actually lift your hand or arm and once you do that its near impossible to get back into it. What i suggest is switiching your mind over for a few seconds to "i will lucid dream" or start forming a dream scape in your mind and as you pull towards it think something about the real world for a split second and if you are dreaming or entering a dream it will seem not right and that should do it for you, its something that helps me when i WILD so it may work for you, but who knows. Good luck with it and keep trying (when i was first trying to WILD i nearly didnt care that i didnt LD as the SP feeling was different and cool enough to warrent the time i thought).

Thanks a lot that should help me. im just realising now that sleep paralysis had only just started because i was able to move my arm when i was trying to separate my dream body from my real one. but afterwards my arm and fingers felt realy still, just like it does when you've just woken up and you cant clench your fists, so i guess it was starting to kick in.

      thanks for your help!
