the belief is that Dreaming is a creation of your mind. so it's all inside you, im not sure about trying to obe inside a dream but in real life astral projection is your 'soul' 'conscience' 'energy' whatever you call it leaving your physical body

You can OBE inside a dream, but it will not be as fun as a 'real' AP experience.

Lucid Dreaming is when you are simply dreaming and aware that you are dreaming. You can then control the dream.

Astral Projection is in fact not a dream but projecting your Astral Body into different planes, such as the Physical itself, Mental, Buddhic, or Atmic. While an AP can have the same qualities and is sometimes similar to a Lucid Dream, it is not a Lucid Dream.

I think when you are dreaming, you have already projected and are in the astral plane. You cannot OBE inside a dream, for you already are out of your body !!

I suddenly have a funny picture of a transparent form of myself floating when I go to sleep, and it snapping into me again when I wake up!

Some people even say astral projection is just a normal dream that looks different.

[posted also in another thread but fits in here nicely]

In my opinion, (Its my opinion please dont flame me for thinking i'm stating facts here... ) the connection between Lucid dreaming and Astral Projection is that Astral Projection IS LUCID DREAMING.

Think about it, Lucid dreaming is not widely known, actually before LaBerge minimal interest and information. So people didnt know what it was and thought it was real, or another realm, or whatever they didnt realise it was your mind recreating it all. If you look at the ways to induce OBE's and AP you'll notice that they are about 100% similair to a WILD. I did a WILD this morning and I experienced all the things, vibrations etc and then I floated out of my body. Pretty exciting. Then, I looked around in my room and it looked very real, but I had controll... (Because I dont believe in OBE's i was able to excersize this controll, if I had believed in OBE's I think I wouldnt be able to because it was so imprinted on me by all the sites, all the signs where correct, and I believe in it, so I dont have controll because I believe and expect it) I flew my computer around with my mind, I flew into another room, then outside, (which now looked like sunny American suburbs ive seen from TV instead of my town) and woke up... short WILD. No OBE, or AP. Just an LD.

lol coincidence i just replied to ur post in the other thread

too many people dont have experience and say they had an obe when 99.9% it was most likely an ld..so everyone says obe's dont exist but thats taking credit away from an art, and many people who practice it!!!!!!!!!

ur conscience (i believe) is in a frail state of sleep and wake during an obe attemp.....and the subcon can so easily trick u into believing the most absurd things its easily possible that one could fall into sleep and stil believe they are trying to obe.....

only true experienced dreamers could know the difference
