      Wierd experience last night

I didn't go to sleep until about 2am. I decided not to try WILD, cause i wasn't feeling like it and i was REALLY tired. So I laid down and began to relax. I was thinking about ld'ing, but i wasn't trying to. I kept feeling like I had fallen asleep and then was awoken by something. My body felt a little numb and I felt like i was sinking in to my bed. I then felt like i went to sleep again but was startled with the feeling like i was falling. It was very wierd. I then did a rc and it failed, so i was not dreaming. I laid back down after that and did fall asleep. but no Lucid dreams.
Was this on the right track for WILD? is it normal for this to happen? Maybe i was more relaxed because i wasn't focusing so hard on ld'ing. let me know what you think =]

Yes, numbness is the paralysis coming on, and falling is a common sensation when transitioning to the dream state. Next time, don't RC, until you're sure you're dreaming. Wait for the falling to finish, then the dream should begin shortly. Also, relaxing helps a lot with WILDing. Congratulations, you got further with a WILD than I ever have.

Sinking and spinning are common sensations when attempting to WILD, vibrations are also common. Its just a result of being more aware of your bodies process of going to sleep than it would normally be.

WILDing use to freak me out a little because of this when i first started but just relax and fall into it and it starts to become fun. Also, this technique is best used when having an afternoon nap, or going back to bed after you've been to sleep already as your REM periods (the periods in which you dream) will be longer and more consistant.
