      Angry Ld thoughts Why???!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I became lucid last night through the time rc in my room as usual so i got outta bed and it was pitch black so i flicked the light switch, suprise suprise it didn't work. Then this girl who looks like she is from a horror film comes out of the black and grabs my leg, so i just tell myself it's just a dream and i'm completely safe and then i kick her off me and go downstairs and out the front door. I appear in my old street and my brother appears from outta nowhere with his car so i go to get in but it's locked so i use my car keys which i pretend are in my hand to unlock the door.

I drive down outta the street and he says he wants to buy me some birthday drinks so i go into this pub and there was two people from coronation street in there, alot of othere people but no girls so i left. Me and my brother decide to go clubbing so as i was just about to drive off my worst ld fear the thoughts of waking up came into my mind, i tried to block them off but it didn't work and about 5 seconds later i woke up (nearly re-entered).

Does anyone else have this problem?

You were Lucid, but decided to get in your brothers car and go to the pub and then clubbing??? >_> Wow you are easy to please hahaha. Dreams can only last for so long that was most likely the end of your REM period.

I can see why thinking about waking up could well, wake you up. I suppose a good way to stop it from happening my be to make something absolutely amazing happen in your dream, probably one of the few things that could take your mind off of it.

Or as Brandon said, it could have been the end of the REM period.

yeh wel there's not much else i can do at the moment cause i can't dream spin or summon people so i don't know what else to do, and i always become lucid in my neighbourhood and i can't get out of the place if i try driving places i end up in the middle of nowhere. Plus clubbing in ld's is awesome!

Yeh it could have been the end of the rem cycle, the last few times i have had ld's it just faded really fast without the chance to dream spin so perhaps thats what has happened in those too, but i'm convinced it's those damn waking up thoughts.

That's happened to me a lot. Everytime I have a DILD...or at least most of the time (and I have them a lot) my sight is fuzzy, as if I'm barely asleep. It's like I'm jussst barely over the "sleep/awake" line.

I don't know much about it, but my suggestion would be to set a goal of something very very simple to do in your dream. Before you sleep set a goal. "I will look at the ground for 3 dreamseconds". or perhaps "I will spin around". The problem is remembering to do these things once you're dreaming. That's because once your consciousness switches over to the dreamstate, you may be aware, but your conscious logic is different, therefore your thoughts are as well. Somethings may not carry over. Really it's just a matter of practice. Start small and work your way up.

I've never found the spinning technique that good anyway. My method is a lot simpler. When you feel the dream slipping away, just shout out loud (in your dream) in a fairly aggressive voice "I WANT MORE CLARITY" "GIVE ME MORE CALRITY". This works great. Suddenly everything becomes rock solid again and really colorful and vivid. Works great for me!

Great lucid dream with a lot of control.

I've heard that rubbing ones dream hands together can be used to prolong the lucidity of a dream, but have not gotten the chance to try it yet.

Sometimes I've found that if your LD starts to fade to grey or black, you are still in the LD. Shout for more calrity and imagine a scene and sometimes it will re-appear. I've found a faded dreamscape doesn't always mean it's over.

When my ld fades it normally fades instantly not giving me the chance to respond, but this is the way my ld ends when i think of waking up.

If only i could avoid that damn waking up thought!
