      Being 2D in a LD

Anyone ever tried it? I can't quite picture what it would be like. Something to try I guess

I was thinking about this earlier.

I imagine my mind would just set it like a 2D video game (as in looking at a screen.) After playing a lot of video games, I sometimes get this, I'm not sure what this would be like while lucid.

I'd think it would be hard to stay lucid, actually. Other than the screen-view, It's hard to fathom how the mind would interpret a 2D world.
Have you heard the gypsy hymns in the odd hours of the night?

This has happened to me several times, and for some reason every 2D dream had the same story line. It was extremely wierd though - I'm talking about full-on Flatland style 2D.

I've never had entire dreams in 2D, but dream characters have been in 2D before.

A 2D reality would appear from the view of an inhabitant to be made up of long "strips" of colour, as opposed to "pixels" or "dots" of colour that we perceive in 3D. In a 2D world with gravity, the strips would most likely be interpreted horizontally whilst in a 2D world without gravity, they would be interpreted vertically.

Although I use the term "strips" of colour, inhabitants of the world would be unable to recognise them as such; to them, it would be more like seeing a singe line of different coloured pixels; I say strips because it's easier for us to comprehend.

An interesting property of a 2D world (at least, one with gravity) is that you would be unable to turn around to look behind you without actually positioning yourself up-side-down.
