Do regular or lucid dreams meld?

Well, I was going to just post my dream experience but it ended up too long, if you wanna read it go to my dream journal.

It ended up being non-lucid, but very close several times, but I have a question about how long a dream can extend, considering it ended up being only 3 hours of sleep, which was pretty much continuous, with 3 brief interruptions of waking up and immediately falling asleep 5 seconds later, and I can almost guarantee due to the length of the dreams that I was dreaming for most of that time. Yeah, I know time doesn't matter in dreams, I just don't think an hour (at least in the first hour) is long enough to enter a good REM cycle that results in a big dream. The other 2 times could have been the extended sleep mixed with the brief awakenings. I drank half a coke before going to bed. Or it might be the fact that it was an afternoon nap.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "meld."

Read your DJ entry. Sounds like you were almost doing DEILD, a shortened WILD method that relies on brief awakenings at the end of a dream. DEILD is also known as dream-chaining since it often results in returning to your last dream. With DEILD you can pretty much chain a dream for as long as you can sleep. A few times after some serious (unintentional) sleep deprivations I've kept a dream chain going for over 12 hours. I'm not sure how much time was spent in REM, but when ever I woke from a dream I used DEILD to re-start the dream I was after. Crazy stuff.

ah that's what I meant then, dream-chaining. Alrighty sounds cool. It always seems to happen when I take long naps during the day like that. I suppose I will try again this weekend or something. thanks
