Basically its saying that when you have nothing to live for, you long for something to make life worth while. While at the same time, those who have given up on ever finding something to live for long ago, will tell those who are just now having a lost interest in life to give up hope, because they are disgusted that the newer ones desire such a thing, due to the fact they they are in fact disgusted by themselves as well. |

If you've ever heard the poem "Kublai Khan" (which, if you are a poet or have an english degree, you certainly have), it's rather famous and was, I believe composed in a dream. Though I don't remember if it was a Lucid or non-Lucid. |
