      Take A break

      Part 1 of Dreamviews exersize.

Unofficial period of break taken-10 days. Zero posts and no study into any dreamviews associated subjects.

Attention focused getting sleep, college and work, recharging energy for Astral/Oobe efforts.

Starting today have posted here and will be again learning about associated subjects. Will attempt Oobe tonight and post results compared to 4 weeks ago. Time taken to achieve states of mind, physical sensations and limits reached.

Good idea. I've been permenantly tired for weeks now, and haven't a change in hell to have an LD, consequently.

      :(

      Same here...

I downloaded an LD timer 2 nights ago and had it play a WAV file at 4.30am saying "Are you dreaming? Take a look around... Become lucid". I fell asleep about 1.10am, woke up at 3.20am and could remember a dream I just had. Fell back asleep, then the timer went off and it woke me right back up. Not false awakening either, which I think I'd have preferred! Tried it again last night and the same thing happened. Dream at 3.30ish and woke up and then woke up an hour later by the sounds. Will turn my speakers down and also set it for 5.30am tonight.

Will let you know how it goes. If anyone wants a copy of the timer or sound files (about 10 of them) let me know. I'm on MSN [email protected]

I don't have a computer in my room and besides I would worry about what would happen to me, ignorant in sleep, if the computer overheated or something and caught on fire. It would eat power, anyway.

Perhaps I shall get a timer plug and make my stereo play a cassette...

Its as safe to leave your computer on as it is to leave the TV on standby! My computers have not been switched off for years - they run 24/7

I'm always on break. if I have a lucid dream, great. sometimes I get them every other night, other times, I don't.

You never try to purposely induce them? No MILD'S, WILD'S or WBTB'S?
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up

Even the slightest effort is all that's required for some people.

Remember, sum are naturals at LD'ing.
naturals are what we call people who did all the right things accidentally

How effective are you? I mean generally...

Have you always been a natural LDer, or did it start when you found this site(or about the subject in general)?

I don't think I am a natural LDer, but I think what I did was find the technique that worked the best for me. As long as I do what is necesary I will become lucid, but if I don't, then I will probably only have an LD once every 6 months or so...

Yup I think Paperdoll has the right idea, I don't keep a dream journal either. I mean I know it could be good to write some things down, but then I feel like you are defeating the purpose. Why not just concentrate on the dream until the point where it becomes a memory trait? I mean I know we all remember things from our childhood right? So if we just remember the dreams we could actually store it in our minds for a long period of time.

it started when my mother was talking about a dream she'd had where she knew it was a dream and she had control. she said it was a "lucid" dream and that it freaked her out and she never did it again. I was intrigued. so I searched on google, found some sites (including DreamViews) and started a journal. I had my first LD about 3 days after I started. some time passed, I had several more, then got lazy with the journal and quit. but, I noticed I still had LDs occasionally even after I quit writing them down...but before all that, I thought dreams were pretty interesting and I usually tried to recall them after I woke up every day. I didn't join the forum until later because it wasn't here when I first found DV.

      Cool

Do you think that the fact that you kept a journal regularly for a while had any effect on your ability to LD often, even now?

Do you generally just know you are dreaming, just because, or do you recognize dreamsigns or perform RC's?

I know I am harassing you with questions, but I just find it interesting to also be able to LD without even trying. I wish I could somehow achieve that myself, as an addition to my regular method...

yes, well I think the journal got me to recall more so I guess it helped some. but, I don't guess I ever needed it.

no dreamsigns, no RCs, no. nothing. usually I just realize I'm dreaming in the middle of a dream. I mean I have tried several techniques I just don't use any regularly. except WILD maybe, on weekends in the mornings yeah...

but, I'm thinking about trying something pretty soon because I haven't really had an LD in a while...meh...I really need to try meditating...

      When was your last LD?

Do you ever post them in the forum? I don't think I have ever read any of your LD's...

I never keep a record of dreams or try to induce them either, and I never have any. I think it's because I've read too much Dreaming related stuff (it's a weird theory, but I reckon it's quite plausible...If you read so much dreaming information, I go to bed thinking "Well, this book said try this, this website says try this", and my head is just reeling with too much information about it).

actually, I just had the most vivid LD I've ever had last night. and some really vivid non-LDs. it's kinda fuzzy now though, I think I'm going to start a journal again, my recall isn't the best. and...I've posted a couple of lucid dreams in lucid experiences I'm sure, but I don't post every single one that I have...I think I'll go ahead and post the one I had last night.

Breaks don't work for me. I have tried a few...but they don't seem to work. The best tiems to have LD's is when stress is not built up...stress seems to screw with sleep and life...

I don't have LD's every night, or every week for that matter...i seem to have them in cycles with months separating every one...it kind of sucks, but it makes every one WAY MORE enjoyable...

What do you mean? You have an LD every month or so, or you have several and then have a one month dry streak?

Indeed it is often said by experts that the most reliable PCs have never been turned off. PCs don't like the strain of loading up and shuting down.
