      Waking torture

I couldn't wake up from a lucid dream.

Well, I had a nightmare as some one was trying to kill me in a lucid dream. The thing is I didn't sleep for two days and so it was impossible to wake up, after doing shift's method I found myself in a dead world. No one was their and I was searching everything was dark and their was no one, I then false awaken to my PC and a DC character step in. I suddenly realized I was dreaming and said it out loud then DC started acted weird and just starred at me.

I then knew something bad was going to happen as the DC was getting ready to hurt me, and then tried my hardest to wake up. Imagine then having three false awakenings it was really bad, and the person reappeared. I then ended up in my bed however I noticed I was still dreaming and wanted to wake up, so I jumped out of the window. Things got even more strange as when I open the window their was thirty crazy people running towards me, I couldn't jump as they would catch me, then I saw my chance and jumped. I was falling towards the floor and then woke up again in my bed, this time the same character appeared however I didn't notice I was dreaming. Ten minautes later I realized I was dreaming and I woke up.

Seriously if you were in the dream you would be scarred. The DC was weird they wanted me either dead or not conscious i.e. a normal dream, I haven't slept for two days and everything was missing. Imagine walking around a dead universe and the only person in the universe was crazy, their was nothing to do in the dream as their were literally nothing. I tried to make it lighter however it didn't work.

The worse thing is that it lasted roughly about a hour. Man, if I was a coward I would proberly not attempt another lucid dream again. However I would proberly lucid dream tonight, as shifts method worked in the mourning and everything was normal in the mourning. Note: Maybe Non REM lucid dreams are different then REM lucid dreams, as it was tricky to actually get a dream scene. When I pulled myself down the bed I had to twist myself the right way and then I ended up in the celine so I had to floor myself finally I could open my eyes. And in my REM like stages it was much easier. Note: If someone says you can't dream during Non REM then please look up the facts.

The dream is not scary now, but at the time I was really scared and when I woke up I had to flip a coin on whether I go back to sleep. Note: I went back to sleep and didn't lucid, intill I woke up an hour later and tried then.

Had a dream like that once... I was all alone in my hometown, something that was freaking me out was that whenever i looked back when i was out trying to find people.. a small kids bike with three wheels was going in circle as someone was actually using it but it was NO1 THERE! O_o
and so it went on until i woke up...
Reason i couldn't wake up was that i just came home from a 4 days long LAN and had only taken loads of coffie and Coca-Cola + three/four Energy drinks...

Sounds interesting, but it is not confirmed that you dream in Non-REM periods there is only some evidence suggesting that it's possible.

What exactly is the difference between REM & Non-REM Sleep?
REM Dreams and Non-REM dreams are very different from each other in a few major ways. The first difference between the two is Non-REM dreams consist of brief, fragmentary impressions. They are also less likely to involve visual images compared to REM sleep, and are more frequently forgotten. Non-REM dreams are like thinking about something during the day for a brief period of time while REM dreams are comparable to thinking deeply about something. REM sleep consists of about two hours a night while Non-REM sleep lasts about four to six hours.
Again I could find the study where they wake people up and ask what where they dreaming and 70% of people anwsered, note they were in Non REM sleep. So yeah Non REM dreams have been confirmed. Again most people in here don't actually train theirselves to actually remeber the dreams before wbtb or even attempt to wild without wbtb, this is proberly why most people are ignorant to Non REM dreams in this forum. Like how people think they only dream once a week.

For the record, I've slept for five minutes in the car and dreamt in that time. I doubt I'd have REMed by then.

I've had that happen as well. I don't know about "Non-REM dreams" persay, but I know that we can experience things that are closely akin to "normal" dreams when we are falling asleep. A person doesn't go directly from awake into a deep sleep, but descends gradually, which could leave cause for some possibility of remembering a dream after a short period of time. The same goes for naps.

Anyway, wendy, did you only try to wake up? I know that it's almost impossible to think straight in a nightmare, but if you're worried that it could happen again, then think up a plan before hand. If something like that happens, yell out "STOP!" and make everything freeze. It'll buy you some time so you can start thinking straight. Also, get an idea of what you would do if those DCs came after you again. You can try transporting yourself to some secluded area or to a place where the DCs there would protect you. You can make them disappear. You can try summoning someone who could help you.

      That's just my two-cents.
