      Guide to Lucid Dreaming E-Book

So I found a 62 page e-book called "Beginner's Guide to Lucid Dreaming Techniques" that goes through a lot about LDing (especially reality checks and induction techniques) and should be useful to anyone just getting started, as long as you make it past the cheesy-scammy-looking first few pages.

      Follow this link:
      http://www.scribd.com/doc/3080/Lucid-Dreaming (see edit note)

It's easiest to navigate and the text looks the best (and it's most easily kept) if you save the pdf version of the file - there's a "Download as PDF" link when you're looking at the book.

The information within it is freely available under the GNU Free Documentation License. The compilation is copyrighted to E-book Emporium, but they give specific permission to resell it for whatever price, or offer it for free.

I think this started off as a bit of a scam, someone was selling the book for $19.97, and whoever bought it got "master resale rights" to it, and could distribute it as they see fit for whatever price (to recoup their losses for spending $19.97 on free information, I guess). Fortunately, some kind soul has decided to "resell" it for $0.00.

If you want, though, you can send me $19.97 :p

Edit: Apparently there was some copyrighted material that also came up in the search I had posted before, so I've changed the link so the only thing that comes up is the document I was talking about. Please don't ban me =)

I'm 99% sure the one I posted the link to is ok... it says it's available under GNU, and that people can resell/distribute it.

It has good info in it so I hope it doesn't get taken down.

There is also this book for free on Google Books (its a full book not just a small preview like alot of books are) called The Lucid Dream Manifesto. I havn't read most of it but a quick skim seems like it gives some interesting points. http://books.google.com/books?id=cv-...1c5dBg#PPP1,M1

Thanks for this. I'll read it tonight. Who cares if it's legal anyway.
How I discover what my dreams are about

In my last lucid dream I made pink sparks between my palms. I was trying to make a white ball of energy...

Posting illegal or pirated material/links is not permitted on DV. That's why.

You might find it interesting but IIRC it's ancient - i.e. pre-Laberge - and so was re-published for the express reason of historical interest.

      ROFLMAO.

You don't mention the original source, which is immediately recognisable if you've seen it. Its a WikiBook! The original is also available as a PDF, though I expect the scam ripoff made some effort to make it look better. If you use the WikiBook instead you'll also benefit from any updates since this copy was made, you can register to edit it yourself, and you'll have a Warm Fuzzy Feeling(TM) from avoiding scambags :-).

Quality is par for the course for Free[ly modifiable] Stuff that hasn't seen amazingly inspired leadership. It's not up to sellable book level (IMO), but enough people have been interested in it to make it functional, and it does contain Cool Stuff.

P.S. If anyone is interested in editting it - it hasn't been updated recently - the first thing to do would be to rewrite the "dangers of lucid dreaming" section, which has much too negative a tone. It seems it was easier to gather up warnings that you'll become addicted and astral spirits will suck your brains out (and say "not everyone believes this but we have to warn you"). It's not even balanced; it doesn't list potential benefits in the same detail or include the counter-arguments, and this is supposed to be a book for lucid dreaming, not against it.

P.P.S. OK, the WikiBook PDF really does suck.
