      mirrors

im hearin a lot that lookin at mirrors are good RCs, but i was in a dream last night and i was about to hop in the shower, i looked at myself in the mirror before i got in, and i looked completely normal. people say that when they do it that they have different hair or somethin, but i looked the same as i do every day, same hair, some body build, same facial hair (none). does this work all the time for the people that use this RC?

I don't use mirrors for reality checks, but i REALLY like playing with them.

Do a search on 'mirror' or 'mirrors', lots of great posts about them!

Eh, I think this site is going to need a big disclaimer saying something like "All this information is based on OUR EXPERIENCES. Dreams are personal and different for everybody, so dont be worried or suprised that something works different for you."

I am normally myself in mirrors too. I did however went lucid once because of it. I was looking into the mirror and I noticed the reflection of a light in my eye in the mirror though there wasn't anything around that could of made the light. I am not even sure I would catch that while I was awake, how I got it while sleeping I have no idea.

ya, mirrors sound really weird. but i got sumthing that could be REALLY kool. think about this: when u go into a Super Market, think about the frozen sections where they usually keep cheese and milk and such. on the walls in the little frozen sections, there are BIG mirrors, like shiny silver stuff. imagine what those could do in dreams...

I have only checked a mirror once and I looked like me but i was whering face paint and dressed like an indian. That is when i went lucid this dream turned out to be a farely long one but it was really boring cuz i didn't think to try out some stuff i walked outa my bathroom and went and got on the computer. Its like i know that i am dreaming and i can do what i want and move and all that but of all things i would get on my comuter. About 1 outa 10 LD's are like this, but i know that i am dreaming so whats up?

The only time I looked in a mirror I became lucid and I was wearing odd clothes.

The only time I can recall of a mirror - I looked, and was an old man. Then looked again, and it was fuzzy. Looked again, and it was like an unstable mozaic. I touched my nose and it floated off the to left.

i hate the LDs where i just walk around doing relitivly normal stuff, i think my thinking at these times is mainly around exploring the dream world i created, but once i wake up i relize i could have done much better stuff.
      still, cant complain

Crap, I thought I replied to this one! Well, it wouldn't be the FIRST time I forgot to click "Submit"..............stuuuuuupid.

Anyway, in my most lucid of LDs, it was sparked by my reflection in a mirror. I was looking at my eyes up really close in a bathroom mirror, when I noticed that they were the wrong colour. I became instantly lucid, and began doing cool experiments.

The odd thing was, when I looked away from my reflection, everything went black and I woke up. NEXT time, I'll keep looking in that damn mirror until I get better at sustaining lucidity. Hell, I'll take the stupid thing off the wall and go flying with it, I don't care! I'll be the most narcissistic, reflection-lovin LDer that there ever was!!

I looked into a mirror a few nights ago in a normal dream after watching a whole bunch of vampire movies. I had fangs and catlike eyes, which I thought was cool, but later realized it didn't make sense because vampires have no reflection. I'm dissapointed... I should have caught that one in the dream.

I only remember encountering a mirror once in a dream, when I looked in it I saw the reflection of a woman and it caused me to go lucid.
