Well, in a LD your conscious mind is (for the most part) in control of the dream. It kind of shoves the subconscious out of control. So all of the effort the SC makes to create DCs is then placed on your conscious mind. If that idea makes sense.

It doesn't

The theory about consciousness and subconsciousness assumes that the consciousnes is PART of the subconsciousness. It's not something that stands seperate. So conscious or not, your subconscious is always active, even in your waking life.

At least, that's the theory
