It's a spelling mistake. WILD is the correct term, and it stands for Wake Initiated Lucid Dream. Read about it on the tutorials forum. DILD is dream induced lucid dream.

Hey, no offense, but SHOUTING and 20 useless smileys is annoying... and I think there's a rule about that somewhere...
Yeah, WEILD is just a spelling mistake. The closest real acronyms are WILD or DEILD.

It ends with ILD with a purpose. So as long as it's a real, new tech and not some "sub tech", I guess it's ok. Not really up to me, but I don't have a problem with ILD or similar names. It makes it look more organized.

Also to the thread starter, I haven't heard of a WEILD, but there is such a thing as DEILD (dream exit induced lucid dream).

There are only three possible LDs, DILD, MILD and WILD. Anything else is a variation of one of them.

      What about HILD, or PILD?!
Hynosis and Punishment-induced... those don't fall under any of the three categories.

There are two fundamental types of LD: DILD and WILD. It's a WILD if you were aware since being awake, and a DILD if you were not. Within these two categories are more specific categorisations such as MILD, DEILD (or chaining - whatever you like to call it), FILD etc. The original poster is probably confused between WILD and DEILD.

That is one of the most poorly presented posts I have ever seen on this board. The all caps is awful, and really, anyone who has been on the internet for more than a minute should know that all caps is a bad idea when asking a serious question. The exclaimation marks are unnessecary, and make the post seem even more silly. The smileys are just the icing on the cake, though. All those irrelevant images in a row there really add to the content of the post. Ugh. It's not like everyone needs to have perfect grammar or spelling, but come on. At least have a go at being somewhat readable.

Well, as I see it, a WILD is any technique in which you must remain concscious while falling asleep, a MILD is any technique that requires autosuggestion (so hypnosis would fall in this category) and a DILD is just a lucky dream in which you become lucid (possibly brought on by RCs). I also have no idea what punishment induced lucid dream is, sounds nasty ...

It means that you tell yourself that if you don't have an LD that night, you will punish yourself. Not necessarily physical, but something like not watching TV for a week, eating something bad, etc.
You're right, HILD falls under MILD.

Haha, the masochist's approach to LDing :p. Anyways, sounds like autosuggestion to me (therefore MILD).

Autosuggestion? Maybe, but the main part of the technique is that if the autosuggestion fails, you punish yourself... and then your subconscious links no LDs to punishment or something... so it only partly falls under autosuggestion.

Thread locked. If it was a joke, it's not actually funny, and if it's not a joke, I hope you found the answer you were looking for. If not, ask or PM someone.
