      Questioning a dream

If you are dreaming a normal dream where you are unaware you are dreaming and you question something that happens in the dream yet are still unaware you are dreaming is this still a lucid dream?

Last night I dreamed I was walking down a strange path to a strange house. When I went in the house one of my online friends was there and was really surprised to see me. She asked how I got there and I told her I had walked. As I said it I thought to myself 'eh? how could I have walked almost 250 miles?' I tried to remember the journey to the house but had no recollection of it. I then felt bad as I knew I couldnt have walked that far so knew I was lying to my mate (something I would never do in RL) We then started chatting about something else and I forgot about my 'lie' At no point in the dream did I realise I was dreaming Would this still be classed as a lucid dream?

No, it's not. You have to get lucid for it to be an LD. You were close, but no cigar.

      Hey there,

It's still a good sign though, it means you're mind is beginning not to take the dream 100% for granted anymore, and the idea that you have to ask yourself whether or not your dreaming is beginning to penetrate the veil of your dream.

Keep it up! Hopefully you'll have more of these dreamchecks and sooner or later they will tell you you're dreaming!

Hi Redrivertears. Thanks for that. I have always had a lot of lucid dreams and then some where I have no idea Im dreaming. I love ordinary dreams just as much as the lucid ones. Im getting worried now. If I were to get lucid in more of my dreams does anyone know if that means that eventually I wouldnt have any ordinary dreams? Aww that would be a nightmare (no pun intended lol)
