      about my dreams this weekend

both of my dreams from friday night and saturday night are on the dream interpretation forum, go check them out!

anyway, i just wanted to bring up an issue... ive been reading hte tutorials and all and mostluy all of them say that before you go to sleep you should say and believe 'i will be in a lucid dream, i will be in a lucid dream, etc'

yes well after my first lucid dream about being a superhero (in the dream interpretation forum!), i woke up that morning wanting more dreams. however my mom shoved me out of bed and i coudlnt go to sleep. that night, saturday night, however, i was so tired and i wanted to dream so badly

i kept saying to myself 'i want to dream, please let me have a dream, i WILL have a dream, etc'

except i willed myself to have a flying dream, because i absolutely LOVE flying in my dreams!!!!! (and my superhero power from the night before was flying )

i wake up the next morning and what dream do i remember? one where i have just come out of a theater and its raining and the sea is crazy, and im on a beahc with my family! NO FLUYING INVOLVED AT ALL!

i willed myself so much and it didnt happen.... any tips???

Umm... sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't... you can't just be like "Humpf! No lucidity!? Something must be wrong!!!11!!1!"... Just because you went lucid once does not mean you can do it all the time and at will. If you could have one EVERY time you wanted one, do you think there would even be a dreamviews forum? The only message board would be "Lucid Experiences" because all we would talk about were stories because we would all Rock the Casbah at lucidity. That's like reading a book about piano and it says "Sit with correct posture" and you rearrange your butt cheeks and say "But it still sounds like crap when I play Piano Man!"

It's a tough gig. It's a skill. Just like anything else, you have to work at it. Keep a dream journal, try different methods, experiment with when you fall asleep, etc. Heck it can go as far as eating different things or not taking certain supplements! It is a science of the brain, for crying out loud! And the coolest and most fascinating part about it being a science of the brain is that everyone is different and you get to treat yourself as a walking, talking, sleeping experiment! My dream journal looks more like a Biology Lab than it does a collection of memories! You have to figure yourself out!

      Explore yourself!

      ...

      Not like that...

      Well thank you very much!

After having been gone for so long it's good to know that I can get back in the swing of things!

And i know the process of experimenting pretty well... I have yet to have a lucid at will... ever

sometimes the best thing to do to have an LD is to just quit. And I say that in all seriousness...that's also (imo) a great way to get out of a dryspell...quit.
