      Help for begginer

On Friday I was talking to a friend about LDs and remember (at least) one from when I was a kid (5-7 years old). I didn't know what was happening so I just screamed my head off thinking I'd never wake up.

My dreams consist of bits that happen in the day so Friday night I had a dream that consisted of some chick from Greys Anatomy and Rory (and his parents) from 8 simple rules chasing me (they were the last two shows I watched before I hit the sack). As I was running through some car park I heard my friends voice say Lucid Dream (I don't know what triggered it) and I immediatly became Lucid. I took one step forward, one back and then one to the side to test my lucidity. I then had a false awakening and completly forgot about the lucidity.

Those 5 seconds of lucidty were enough to spark my intrest further so yesterday I googled it. I saw a technique for WILDs and tried it last night however the 'led rug' that your feel only covered my legs, arms and waist. Everytime I felt it going further my heart started pumping and it stopped. I didn't know what to do next so I just went asleep.

      My question is,
Can I stop my heart beating faster so the 'led rug' will cover me entirely?
      and
Once your body falls asleep whats the next step? I've googled for about and hour and a half this morning but can't find much on it.

      Thanks in Advance

Hey SearchMall! First off to the forum.

Well in answer to your first question i think you need to just practice the technique a bit more until you get used to it, then hopefully your heart will beat a little slower, another thing that may help is if you try and do some meditation. But you need to practice it until you get so used to it that your heart will not beat so fast. If you just calm yourself and focus on one single thing then the led rug will probably cover you quicker. Keep your mind focused.

After your body falls asleep you may experience HI (Hypnogogic Imagery) and you will see the dreamscape coming together, it will most likely start off as a light show and you see basic shapes and colours coming together. You may experience vibrations or hear strange sounds but don't worry they are all normal, stay calm through this period and everntually you will be in the dream, you can then continue and control the dream and do what ever activity you have in mind

Check out the WILD technique in the tutorial section, there is a good one here
