First of all, I have been having lucid dreams since I was 8. They are total accidents.
When I'm dreaming I just happen to figure "I'm in a dream....cool.". My first two or three were just and only lucid. I was aware, I could control my behavior, it was easy to recall them, but, the control on my behavior was limited. My thinking capacity was probably lowered to around 30% normal.
During the next two or three, my capacity was heightened to around 50%. I started to try to do things I wouldn't normally do in reality. Gun fights, car races, harming anyone I didn't like in general, that sort of thing. But nothing abnormal, everything that happened there could happen in real life.
Then during my next three or four, I realized that if I wanted a gun fight, I'd find guns some how. If I wanted a race, I'd find a cool car. I could control parts of my dreams. I tested out somethings. I tried flying, superpowers, all that mainly. I was at around 60% capacity here. But if there was an impulse, like I immediately wanted to go do that, I'd be so excited I'd loose my lucidity sometimes.Just recently, I had two more, where I was at 70% I could control almost everything entirely. I could not choose scenery but I could control pretty much anything else.
But these are all accidental, I can never gain lucidity when I try, only when I have forgotten about it. I've never done any techniques. Heck I didn't even know what it was called or if this happened to anyone else let alone how to control lucidity at will. So this is the first time I have tried to find out more about it. Lucid dreaming is fun so I'd like some help on techniques I could use based on my situation. Dream recall is pretty much no problem for me either if that helps.
EDIT: Oh, and my mother can do it too. Same situation. None of my other family can though.
