Ahhh! I Want It So Bad I Could Scream!!!!

I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED to LD tonight!! I just have to. Every post I read about people's success stories every awesome little trick, everything I've ever wanted to try (But was sadly reminded that it was impossible) is all focused on this one little task. LUCID DREAMING!!! Hello, it's as if some angel came and told me that I can anything IF I achieve this small little task. One which I am so close to getting that I can nearly taste it! Even in my dreams I talk about Lucid Dreaming. I want to. (Not even realizing that I could if only i had the tiny ipiphany that "Hey, I'm dreaming." But NOOO! I am too stupid to realize it.

Sorry. I just had to get some frustration out. Tonights going to be it. It has to. I will have the greatest success story for you all tomorrow.

      Relax!!! BREATHE!!!!
If you try too hard, you'll just stress out and then not have any LDs. Relax, maybe even take a small break .

Lol. Sorry bout that!! I would take a break, but im just so thinking that I will tonight. Its going to happen. Im just trying to decide what I should do...Im thinking it would be cool to just walk in an open feild at night and talk to random people. Summon rain or something. Or maybe I should try for something a little more fun like flying, or summoning objects.

My first LD, although it lasted all of 3 seconds, make me feel really good all day. All I could think about was "It finally happened!", "Now I'll have more", "they'll only get better", and "hey, all of those people on DV aren't going crazy believing in this LD stuff ".
And it took me a month to get it, and pretty much that whole time I felt exactly like your thread title

Yea, for your first time, I recommend doing the usual: Flying, breathing under water, meeting up with me and chillin (j/k). but dont freak out with excitement in your dream or you will wake up and be semi-happy but more pissed lol. Just relax and think about what you wanna do. It's happening tonight thats why I'm tellin you this.

Yeh you have got to relax, i know thats easier than it sounds but it works. Don't stress yourself out and put doubts in your mind because that will work agaist you (i know because i have only just come out of a ld drought). I cut down reality checks to a few a day and just told myself i will become lucid and believed it 100%. Though it might not work for you because with me i have alot of confidence because before i used to be able to ld at will almost, so i suggest you keep the focus and determination on having a lucid but if you don't get one stay positive (no negative thoughts).
I can see why you want to lucid dream so badly, it is the worlds most under rated thing, i was posting all these anxiety posts recently and i am so glad i have got them back because i hate it when you can't lucid and everyone is talking about how much fun they had in theirs last night.

I'm sure you will get one very soon and experience why everyone talks so highly of them.

I think the number one prerequisite is to have a very strong desire to become Lucid. So your on the right track as long as you don't let yourself get to frustrated. Determination, Patients, and Persistence. Are the key factors. Just keep at it and don't give up. And you will be sure to get there. And I'd say, that if your thinking about Lucid Dreaming in your dreams now. Your probably pretty close to getting one. Your just one step away from it.

Yes i take b6 every night. It improves your memory which improves your chances of remembering your dreaming, gives you more vivid dreams which also increases your chances of lucidity. After 6 hours you get a flash of alertness which has made me lucid spontaneously many times. It takes 8 hours to wear off.

thank god this post is about lucid dreaming. otherwise i was going to suggest a vibrator.

try different techniques, it takes time. some people get it in a week, others take months. take a break from it if you try too hard. sometimes thats teh best thing to do

whatever you do dont get stressed out, stress prevents you from having lucid dreams, just expect to have a lucid dream and you will have a higher chance of having one.

      ^Probably

Ah, i know how it feels. But trust me, take about a two night break. If you try to hard, it will never come. My first Lucid Dream came when i took a break from trying. Actually, the first night.

If you don't have a rigid day job.. why not consider altering your sleep cycle.. sleeping maybe 3 times per day for a 2-3 hours? Then you would have less of a gap between thinking about how much you want to LD and actually attempting it.

These are some quotes from Carlos Castaneda describing his first attempts at LD. They might encourage you to just keep at it until you succeed.

"....every night for months I went to sleep intending with all my might to become aware that I was falling asleep and to see my hands in my dreams."

(Finding his hands in his dreams was the way Castaneda was taught to develop the ability to LD.)

"Then, one afternoon while taking a nap, I dreamt I was looking at my hands. The shock was enough to wake me up. It proved to be a unique dream that could not be repeated. Weeks went by, and I was unable either to become aware that I was falling asleep or to find my hands. I began to notice, however, that I was having in my dreams a vague feeling that there was something I should have been doing but could not remember. This feeling became so strong that it kept on waking me up at all hours of the night."

"As I continued my dreaming practices, I gained the capability of being thoroughly aware that I was falling asleep, as well as the capability of stopping in a dream to examine at will anything that was part of that dream's content. To experience this was for me no less than miraculous."

When you succeed (and I know you will if you persist) come back to this thread and let us know.
